One more thing, may be its good if you can set up small heaters (like you have outside with fire and glasses) inside also. Those who like more fire can go towards those tables.
Well done and keep it up…
Conference week go-to — consistently delicious!
While in Dallas for a conference, I ended up eating at Texas Spice three times—and every meal was fantastic. I had the Cobb Salad twice: once with salmon for dinner and once with chicken for lunch. Both versions were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Another evening, I went with the steak and fries—also delicious. The service was friendly and efficient every time, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I’d absolutely go back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
The fresh fruits were fresh. The scrambled eggs were watery so I did not try. The biscuit, sausage and gravy were delish!
Espresso and latte were not offered as an option but coffee was and it was a decent blend. Alternative milks (almond & oat) were available if you prefer instead of regular milk for your coffee.
The juice was watered down because ice was mixed with the juice inside the dispenser as a way to keep the juice chilled. I hope they will consider another serving method in the near future.
On the dinner menu, we ordered the shrimp crevice on the starter menu and the roasted chicken since we weren’t that hungry. The crevice is not your standard crevice. The coconut leche de poach sauce was unique and delicious. The only downside was that it came with only about 6 medium shrimps. It’s overpriced at $17. Although it worked out since we weren’t that hungry.
The roast chicken was smoky, moist and seasoned well. It was placed on top of a pile of creamy mashed potatoes with a side of vegetables. We were pleasantly surprised with the portion and flavor of this dish.
There’s a 2-sided large outdoor fireplace that is just mesmerizing!
High ceiling, industrial, large lighting features, booths and tables. Outdoor has couple of fire going on in a 74 degree Friday in May, before 12 noon.
Two large fake flowers are stationed at one door – wondering what are they doing in a farm to table restaurant.
Service is good. As soon as we were seated, servers came immediately with water. Food came rather slow, without any lunch crowd – which is fine for us.
We were initially seated by the wall. When I asked to sit by the window, the young female hostess said “oh they’re reserved.” Identical to the line I was fed three days ago at The Pink Adobe in Santa Fe. But she then volunteered, “lets me check.”After the coffee is served, they moved us to the window – that looks out to the red flying horse – the renovated Pegasus. Of course, by the time we leave an hour later, the window tables are as vacant as when we came, and the restaurant is emptier at 12:40 – with a convention of Fan Expo in full swing that the hotel has direct link to.
I like their 100% cotton blue napkins, simple Corby Hall tableware.
We’ve a light brunch: Artisan salad and grill cheese – both are good. My salad is lightly seasoned with nuts and mint.
Some chairs’ cushion could use ‘renovation’.
We had a wonderful experience at Texas Spice! The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. I ordered the Texas Strip Steak Frites (cooked perfectly medium rare), and my wife loved the Gulf Shrimp & Crab Gemelli.
The service really stood out. Our server, Susan, was nice and attentive throughout the meal. She even hooked us up with some extra fruit, which we really appreciated! Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming.
This place is incredibly family-friendly. They had a nice high chair available, and the kid’s menu was perfect—my daughter enjoyed the chicken and green beans.
Best kept secret: Kids under 5 years old eat free! We will definitely be back.
