This was my first time visiting this restaurant. My wife has been here before in the past traveling through this area and she recommended it. The restaurant had not been open for business very long this day, so there was only one other couple eating. The server was friendly, and got our drinks to us quickly along with our appetizer we ordered. I ordered 20 boiled shrimp for the appetizer, but I wasn’t crazy on their take of cocktail sauce. It didn’t stop me from eating it though, but will probably ask for melted butter if we visit again. I had the grilled salmon, and it was a generous portion. The rice and vegetables were good as well. Overall, we had a good visit, and if traveling through again. I would definitely stop back in.

I live out of state and when there’s opportunity for me to get to Texas the first thing I want is BBQ. The second is the CFS. This place did not disappoint. I’ve been here before, but last Friday my brother and I walked in and got seated right away. Forgive me for not getting her name, but the young blonde woman in yoga pants (best description I can give) was delightful and highly efficient. The side salad was your typical Texas diner fare and definitely nothing to write home, or here, about. But we also ordered the deep fried pickles. A great decision btw as they were crispy, hot and tasty. They were followed promptly by our orders. My bro and I are very specific about our food orders. Mine: the chicken fried steak with white gravy, fries and a side of A-1. My brother: the chicken fried steak with fries and brown gravy. Now, I’ve been here before but let me tell you, those steaks were perfectly golden brown and certainly not overly greasy. To say we walked out of there happy would be an understatement. We talked about dinner for at least the next two hours. Great job! And thanks again yoga pants girl!

This place is decorated in the traditional old fisherman style. It’s cozy, casual, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and allowed you to relax and take your time. We ordered boudain balls, calamari, and sorlion with grilled shrimp. Everything was cooked perfectly, well seasoned, and delicious. The outside of the building doesn’t look like much but it is worth walking into.

1st time visit. We were greeted as soon as we entered, Brandy our waitress was friendly and courteous. Brany provided excellent service and provided an honest answer to one of our questions. We ordered the boudin balls appetizer, which comes with 6 PCs. They were amazing. We had 2 Dos XX & a margarita on the rocks with a sweet rim, the margarita was a disappointment. While waiting for our drinks two other waitresses stopped by our table to make sure we were being taken care of. This shows the excellent standard of service here .For dinner we ordered the grilled snapper with 4 grilled scallops and 4 grilled shrimp. The plate came with steamed veggies & steamed rice, with a choice of salad or coleslaw. We had coleslaw, it was tasty & creamy. The snapper, scallops, & shrimp were grilled to perfection. The plate & appetizer were more than enough for both of us. The only downside was the margarita. We will definitely return if we are back in Brenham, Texas.

Nice place. We had fried catfish which was good. Service was a little slow. Only complaint is the condiments were all served in generic squeeze bottle. They didn’t seem too clean. Overall a good experience.

We weren’t sure about this restaurant first, because we were just visiting and never went. We decided to go based on review and OMG! They did not disappoint us!!! The steaks were cooked nicely and well seasoned. We enjoyed and loved the food! Definitely going back when we visit again!

Our party of three had lunch there on a Saturday afternoon. The server “Erin” was extremely welcoming and attentive despite being alone to manage all the tables (there were 3-4 other busy tables at the time).
Food was delivered in a timely manner and for the most part was pretty good. After Erin delivers the order, one of the people in our party asked the others what a certain item in her vegetable salad looked like. Upon initial look it appeared to be a green piece of chewed gum, but after a closer inspection, it was clearly a “pickled caterpillar” that made its way into the vegetable salad served with the rib-eye.
We notified Erin immediately and she was so apologetic and immediately took the plate away and asked if she would replace the plate with something else. Everyone at the table had lost their appetite at that point. Erin said that the plate with the caterpillar would be “comped”…but we were charged for everything else. To be fair to Erin, we never asked for the other meals to be comped despite losing our appetites, so we might have been comped had we asked, but we really just wanted to get out of there. It felt like nothing coming from the kitchen could be trusted.
Again the staff and servers were extremely nice and attentive …but no level of attentiveness could compensate for the discovery of a caterpillar early in the meal. We were reasonably confident that no caterpillars had been consumed yet, and didn’t want to take anymore chances, so we paid and left

This is a local favorite. Food was plentiful, fresh, and delivered quickly. The place was packed! You can always tell a good restaurant by how many cars are in the lot and this did not disappoint!

Things have changed here. My fried seafood had zero taste & seasoning, just plain batter. In addition, I had an extended wait for one of my food items. I was nearly finished with my plate when it finally arrived in its lackluster delivery. Im a local and probably wont return. Definitely not worth the price tag.
