My issue was with the food. I ordered a 16oz Serloin. I’m usually not the one to complain about food, especially not steak; however, my first cut into the steak took no effort and the steak almost disintegrated. When I took a bite it immediately disintegrated into a multitude of very soft pieces. Think luke warm tenderized ground beef breaking apart. It tasted aweful, like sour rotten meat. I was confused and thought it maybe it was a fatty piece of meat and attempted to take another bite. Same thing occurred and I spit it out. My wife thought I was exaggerating until she tried it herself and spit it out.
I notified the server and he questioned whether it was the way I wanted it cooked (medium rare). It was not. Medium rare should be chewy. It was cooked to medium rare, the problem was the meat itself.
He had another steak brought out.
This steak was good until I got to the final 15% and it was just as the previous steak was. It was soft, tender, and disintegrated and tasted like luke warm sour rotten ground beef. I could not finish the steak.
I honestly do not think I can return to Texas Roadhouse again. What is the point of going there if you are not getting a steak? There are far better restaurant options for their other menu options. I’m afraid of spending money on another steak from Texas Roadhouse just to end of feel nauseous and having to sit on the toilet dealing with liquid #2 again
Again, this has nothing to do with the service, or the way the meat was cooked. This has to do with the quality of meat. I have never experienced a steak like this out of the thousands of steaks I’ve eaten in my 33 years of life.
Yes I can make a better steak at home… But those tastey rolls always bring us back. And convenience of course.
Always well staffed when we go in, at times it feels like to many people are there though.
