We wanted to give it some time, so staff could get trained and not so busy. Our experience wasn’t horrible, but for the prices paid I doubt I come back. Pictures included. I ordered my steak medium rare and wife ordered hers medium, but they were pretty undercooked still. Then once thrown back on the grill they lost all juice and flavor, I dont know how long they sat back there and on our plates before coming back. Server was able to get a small percent off our bill, but again we were there to order top notch expensive steaks. We had to ask for a few things multiple times, but it was busy and server was friendly and doing their best and wasn’t enough to ruin the experience, but the food did sadly. Photos before cut looked nice though..

My family and I decided to go to the new Texas Roadhouse on Saturday in Mattoon Illinois for my valentines dinner. I’ll have to admit I was kind of scared to go because I read some reviews on the place and they weren’t very good most of them but we went anyway and I’m very glad we did because everything was excellent except for one thing like other people mentioned in their reviews the music was way too loud and I could barely hear what my family was saying sometimes. I ordered the full slab of ribs and loaded mashed potatoes and my daughter had the same as me my boyfriend and my other daughter had the same a steak and potatoes. The food was excellent I had no complaints very tasty ribs and I think the steaks were excellent too because no complaints, the waitress was excellent so we give her a very good tip because because she deserved it. I think we will probably go again in the future

Excited to try the new restaurant in town. First time eating the tater skins and twisted mozzarella, got them as part of the combo appetizer. Tasted great, especially enjoyed dipping the tater skins in ranch. For my entree I picked the usual, chicken critters with mashed potatoes. Also had Caesar salad which was fine. Seemed like it took a little longer than expected to get the food but I guess it was a little busy plus they’re still trying to figure it out. Overall, I’m really glad to have another steakhouse here in Mattoon.

This place has only been open a couple weeks. There was an hour waIt to be seated, but we stopped by early to put ourselves on the wait list so they could text us when they are ready for us. Service was awesome. Staff was friendly and professional. Food tasted great. So glad they opened a Texas Roadhouse in Charleston.

Overall I would say our experience was good, but it wasnt the greatest Texas Roadhouse experience I’ve had after visiting several other locations. We came right at open and we were seated somewhat quickly. They hostesses and waitresses seemed very stressed, and it seemed very slow and unorganized with seating the customers coming in. You could feel tension in the air. Our server was nice and attentive, but seems shy, and very awkward. She nervously apologized for many things like the wait for rolls and food although it did not bother us and wasn’t a long amount of time to wait at all. We tried to assure her it was alright and we didn’t mind. My salad was small and had very few toppings but I ate it and didn’t complain. My steak was cooked perfectly. I ordered a filet. My guests steak was overcooked but we didn’t bother sending it back. I’m used to superior service at the Champaign and Terre haute locations, so this experience was underwhelming but still…okay…. I’ll try it again, I hope they improve with time. It’s hard being the new guy in town sometimes. I’m thankful to have them in the area.

Couldn’t be more excited to have a Texas Roadhouse in Mattoon! Went on opening night and had the best time! Great service, great food, great atmosphere! We got their pulled pork and the ribeye and both were so flavorful and cooked perfectly! Will be back!

This is our third visit here since they opened , and it’s the 3rd time our steaks were not cooked to our liking. At all. They could not make a rare steak at all. The staff are always the best, great personality and customer service , but for us to have to send a steak back 3 x in one setting and still not make it right says a lot about who is cooking the food and who’s making sure it’s cooked correctly and to the right temp.
