My first time at a Texas Roadhouse was pretty good. It’s a Sunday afternoon in Rapid City, SD. The place is busy, staff is rushing. Our server had to circle back to our table after he dropped off drinks cause the menu is large and we were hungry. Hard to make a quick choice, at least for me. One of my companions ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries. BBQ sauce comes on the side. My other companion had the half rack of ribs, a salad and the loaded baked potato. I had the 8oz Sirloin Steak, rare, (cooked perfectly) salad and fries with cheese and bacon. Food is great. Servings are large enough to take home leftovers for tomorrow. Our server was very helpful and friendly. Great personality. The only complaint we all had was not related to the food or the staff. The place is a “roadhouse”, and has a bar like atmosphere with a lot of noise. But this was not why I took off a star. The place was in August! And the staff were mostly wearing hoodies and long sleeves. My companions and I were so cold we decided to leave and take our food home. Most unpleasant.

Love this location!! Packed or empty the food is great the atmosphere is nice and we’ve never had a bad meal here yet! Definitely worth the price for the food too! Great servers awesome chefs and professional staff make this restaurant experience 10 times better every time!

JT was the best waiter ever! He went over and beyond with his Service! We never needed to ask for a refill on our drinks he was always prepared when our drinks were almost out. And brought them to us without us asking. He was so funny and so very nice and just a joy to talk to. He also kept giving us bread! Whenever he’d come by he’d ask if we wanted more and would bring it to us. And Lauren! Lauren was absolutely amazing! When my friend didn’t get her ranch Lauren saved the day and brought it to us and when the pickle that came with the burger wasn’t on the plate Lauren also brought that. She was such a joy and so nice and just so very amazing! JT and Lauren made this time at Texas Roadhouse the best experience ever!

We’ve visited Texas Roadhouse in Rapid City a few times and have always had a GREAT experience. Most recently we had supper there on Valentine’s Day weekend and our server was JT. He was AMAZING! Super friendly and attentive!

It was quite busy when we got there a little after noon on a Sunday and we were able to get a table after only a minute or so wait. We had initial service quite soon after being seated and our server was courteous and attentive. However it did take a pretty long time to get our food and once we got it it was just ok. The chicken in the salad had an overly charred, rather off-putting smell from the grill, and there was a hair in the sour cream on top of the potatoes. Overall everything was just “ok”

The mango and raspberry margaritas were good!
The Cactus Onion was great as well. We ordered the steak, medium well, and shrimp Scampi with baked potato.
Steak was good okay. The shrimp was dry and had no flavor to it. I am not sure if it was this location, but I have been ordering the same meal since 1996. Starting off in Dallas, Texas, and many more states but never had a dry shrimp Scampi.
My potato was ordered with extra butter, chives, and sour cream (on the side). Got the sour cream on top and nothing else. (?) When our waitress returned to check on us, I asked for butter and chives. Her reply was, “we don’t have that.” It is literally green onions that I have had for decades.
This was a trip my daughter took me on away from our state as I have never been to S. Dakota. We visited during Mother’s Day weekend.
Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed.

Had a good steak and sweet potato…the Texas Roadhouse rolls, as everyone knows, were delicious as always…server was fun and friendly… probably will ask for a table further away from the entrance next time, tonight was particularly busy. My 100 pound German Shepherd , Arty, appreciated the leftover “pick your own” ribeye I brought home too!

They sat us fairly quickly and the service was on point. The food was very tasty. Steak was cooked and seasoned just right. Those bread rolls though!!!! Sheesh they are good. The drinks were tasty. The overall experience was great. They do offer military discount which is nice. I’d go back for sure.

Des was the best server we’ve ever had at Texas Roadhouse! We typically get a gal trying too hard & you cannot understand their slur of words trying to say them in a “nice” voice fast.. Des made everything easy, refilled drinks without interrupting our conversations, came to the table to ask about food at perfect timing. (Typically waitresses ask how the food is 5 seconds after hitting the table, leaving no time to actually taste anything).
Cherish Des as long as you can, that man needs to teach other waiters & waitresses on how to speak, approach, & take care of.
I give a 3 star for atmosphere only because the lady who sat us down clearly saw that our family member was too big to sit in the booth that was not adjustable to size like a table & chair would have been & did not do anything about it.
