So we actually had a very special experience here.
To my surprise, I had received the gender results for our second baby. My husband also happened to get off work early, so we said well why don’t we go out to dinner and maybe do something fun to find out the gender. Nothing crazy, just something small for us and our family to find out.
Texas Roadhouse is my husband’s favorite, and it ended being the perfect choice!
We told the waiter that we had gender results in an envelope and if he could just pick something off the menu that maybe had pink or blue. Didn’t matter what it was, and he could just put it on our bill. All I asked was that we just get a heads up before it came out.
I was expecting maybe like a drink or just something small, but boy did they go above and beyond what I was expecting.
They sent one of their employees across the street to walmart for supplies, and then scooped out the insides of one of their lava cakes and filled it with blue icing! Then they all came out of the kitchen clapping like they do for birthdays, and made a beautiful announcement about “a new life coming into the world” when they got to our table. My husband, myself, and our family got emotional; it was very sweet.
The staff were all so nice and it was really fun how they shared in our excitement with us. They were so flattered we came to them with the request, and they really went above and beyond our expectations. Even though it was last minute, they helped make it really special and memorable.

It was certainly full on a Saturday night not surprisingly. The wait time for a table was less than expected at 25 to 35 minutes. Once seated, the food took a long time to came since the restaurant was busy. The staff were friendly though, the atmosphere was great. The food was DELICIOUS. I usually don’t like mushrooms but the sautéed mushrooms that came with the smothered chicken was delicious. The chicken with brown gravy was delicious, so was the loaded mac and cheese and the vegetables (carrots and broccoli). It is great the restaurant gives you rolls with cinnamon butter and there is a little tablet you can use to pay or play games. I will be back!

The waitress was great. Even though it was extremely busy. She stayed on top of everything.

The order came out quickly for a busy as the place was. The food was not bad, but it tasted microwaved, like a Stouffer’s frozen dinner. I had the smothered chicken. The onions were way over cooked and the portion of the chicken was tiny. The steak cut fries were good.
When we left it was lined up out the door. The waiting area was standing room only.
So I guess it is enjoyable for many, but as for our tastes not so much.

We have always enjoyed this Texas Roadhouse location but today we had an exceptional experience. Our waitress Shelly was wonderful, very attentive and kind. She made our date night that much better.

Both of our steaks were cooked well-done which was not how we ordered them. Not giving a bad review as the service was great and the rest of the food was good. Also Tyler she was amazing I think was a service manager or something but excellent job on handling an issue with the steaks. We didn’t ask for new ones or anything but she replaced my friends steak and boxed it up for him as to show she wanted to keep his business. Also Courtney was really great as our server.

First visit at the Fenton location. We are located nearby and usually dine at the Flint location, so it’s nice to have one closer as it is my husband’s favorite restaurant.
Our overall experience was great. We had a friendly and attentive waitress. Our meal was delivered in a timely manner. My food was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly, but my husband’s was not.
He ordered his usual of the Dallas steak (requested it to be butterflied because of the thickness of the size he orders), a loaded sweet potato with extra caramel and marshmallows and a salad. The food arrived, and his steak was not butterflied because it was the thinnest Dallas steak he ever received. His loaded sweet potato was not exactly loaded and tasted and looked pretty bland.

I finally went here and got the prime rib, since a lot of people have recommended it.
It was solid. I wish I had got it less well done. I will come back and try again.

Before I came, I looked at a menu online. It must have been a few years old because the prices were drastically higher when I arrived. I do not think the quality of the experience matched the price.
I do like that they are always able to accommodate large groups. And I also like that they are always busy and lively, even on weeknights. I also really like the children’s menu, that was high quality and good value.
But at the end of the day, although there were a lot of positives, I was disappointed in the steak quality and price. I will definitely try again at some point and adjust the review accordingly.

I am a true steak snob. I love a great steak and not afraid to pay big money for one for it to be amazing. I’ve been to middle of the road places and very high end places. Texas Roadhouse as a steak house I would oddly say right in the middle. Funny enough I have never had a bad meal ever. For the money, it’s very good. Can you spend 100.00 on a steak and find one better? Sure. But I’ve also spent 100. And it was bad. In one word I can describe Texas Roadhouse. CONSISTENT! They don’t disappoint. The steak is always cooked exactly how I order it. Atmosphere is kinda loud but fun. Service is always friendly and it’s not over priced. Been here dozens of times.
