Overall, experience was good appetizers were great. Main course was great. Service is good. This is a new restaurant to the Athens community come out and support them.

There was a one hour and 15 minute wait for a table when we arrived. They have a convenient to-go window, which is a nice bonus but we found three seats open at the bar and sat immediately. Will, the bartender, promptly took our order. Stephanie, a manager, brought us our dinner, and it was really fast. Several staff members checked on us with drinks and sides.
My 16 oz Ft. Worth Ribeye was cooked and seasoned perfectly and tasted great. I added mushrooms and onions, which made it even better. I also had a cup of chili that was good, and a cup of buttered corn that I had to take home because I was so full.
While we were there, the staff put on a fun line-dancing show, which made the atmosphere even better. They also offer a military discount. Great service and great food as usual.

It took an hour to get seated (not bad). It took us 35 minutes to get our appetizer. The chicken taste like it was cooked near fish. The steak was not good.

Food quality: Mixed
One steak being overdone and the other under is a noticeable miss for a steakhouse, so that knocks the score down a bit. Still, the meals were good enough to enjoy, just not perfectly executed.
Service: Excellent
Great service can completely change the tone of a meal, and Kaelin definitely did that. Attentive, helpful service is what people remember most, and this was a big positive.
Atmosphere: Very good
Busy but lively is exactly the vibe you expect. Even with the crowd, getting seated pretty quickly felt like a win for the staff and front of house.
So even with the imperfect steaks, the quick seating, strong atmosphere, and standout service made this a solid experience. If the kitchen had nailed both steaks, this would’ve been a near-perfect visit.

My wife and I went on New Years Eve knowing it would be busy, but we were good with that. We arrived at 618 and were told 1hr to 1hr 15 minutes. We got seated at 1hr 25 so pretty close to the quote considering they were really busy. Kylie our server was fantastic. Got our drinks and order promptly and continued to check back on us. We finally got our food an HOUR and 10 MINUTES LATER. We ordered a RARE SIRLOIN and RARE Primerib. They were burnt all the way thru. We asked to speak to a manager and explained the situation. She said “Well I can either get new ones or take them off.” I asked how long that new ones would be and she said “Well im not cooking them so I don’t know” we just said take it off the ticket. So we were brought a bill for my sweet tea and my wife’s drink, by the server. Never saw the manager again. The server was fabulous and would have been fine had they just cooked our steaks again. Only takes 7 minutes start to finish for RARE steak. We both have extensive history in the food service industry.

Delicious food!! Wyatt was our server and he was GREAT! Unfortunately the two bartenders the night we went (Taylor & Krikit) did not want to fix our drink order… there was not one other customer in the entire bar, I made eye contact and smiled a few times but after 20 minutes of waiting our server had to remind them (practically beg them) to make us our drinks. Hoping the next visit is better!

Went to the one in Huntsville. Arrived at 7:15. The doors were locked. We were told they were out of about everything. They were closing early. Then we drove to the Athens one. We go seated at 8:30. We start to order our food. I go to order shrimp and was told they were out. Then we go to order ribs. I’m sorry we are out of that. We basically tried to order any and everything off the menu. Just to be told I’m sorry we are out of that. We just got some fries, cactus blossoms and ate the rolls. Staff was very nice but 2 locations out of food 2-3 hours before closing time? That just doesn’t make sense!! As a business they are losing so much money. We would have ordered $100 worth of food. If they would have had it. What about the other 50-100 hungry customers that got turned away? If it’s after lunch time I won’t come back to Teaxas road house!!

Super nice employees and quality service. Bar drinks were great. The food was blah. Danny and Cricket are amazing. Employees seemed very trained and friendly. There was no goofing offor standing around by any of the staff. It was very well staffed. I wish I could have been more positive about the food but it was just ok. Maybe TRH doesn’t season things like the competition.

I just wanted to share the awful experience of large parties for anyone who may be considering this company for a gathering.
We called to speak to a manager last week about the process for large parties since reservations are not accepted in any way. We are planning a surprise party for my grandmother involving people coming out of state. We were told to call two hours prior to the time to be added to the wait list for that time and that the maximum amount of people who could sit together were 8 (we had 12, but that’s fine. We could make do).
Fast forward to today when we called at 2:30 for a 4:30 reservation and were told the earliest they could do is 7:00. I told her this was the process we were informed of and this was a surprise party with people coming out of state. She said they already had large parties on the books which seems odd since the rule is 2 hours before and we are now looking at 5 hours later. When asked why they don’t take reservations we were told “they just don’t do that as a company” and if we showed up at 4:30 we would not be seated until 7.
So now we can not go to the place the birthday girl wanted to go and had to ruin the surprise to rearrange plans. Thanks for having policies which are against your customers. Good luck.
