Alayna was amazing. She gets it and should be in management because this place is the absolute worst. I’m not even sure why I thought things would be different than the previous awful experiences that we have had at this location. Consistency is a huge problem. There isn’t any! Why do they even bother asking how you want your steak cooked? At Texas Roadhouse that’s always irrelevant because it comes out however they feel like making it that day. It’s either still MOOing or it’s a crusty brick of charcoal. It’s always a gamble!
Don’t dare complain because the condescending manager will talk down to you and argue about it. Then when the steak comes back it’s worse than before. Thanks for offering to personally cook it for us Anna (Mngr) but if your cooking is anything like your mediocre level of customer service then I will most definitely pass on that. We will not be back but we do hope your cooks learn the difference between rare and well done and that your manager Anna loses her snarky attitude and develops strong customer service skills for the next sucker that decides to dine there.

Had such an amazing experience here at this specific Texas Roadhouse location today, July 25, 2025. I was so glad we didn’t have to wait a lot to get seats. I think it just took us about 5 minutes until we got seated on a busy Friday night.
Our server, whose name I can’t remember but based on the receipt, is ‘Jocelyn,’ was really great and kept checking on us about our food or if we needed something. Kudos to her great service!
My husband and I ordered the following: ‘Wild Strawberry Lemonade,’ cheese fries, chili, country fried chicken, grilled BBQ chicken with ribs, buttered corn, seasoned fries, and mac and cheese. Everything was exceedingly delicious. This is perhaps my favorite restaurant, as I found the best-tasting Texas-inspired foods here that I can’t find somewhere else.
Thanks so much for the complimentary bread rolls with that signature honey or cinnamon spread and the peanuts with the shells on. They are absolutely great to eat on their own!
The atmosphere in this location was very cozy and clean.
Overall, Texas Roadhouse is the best restaurant to visit and eat at! You won’t be disappointed. Great food, great service, nice atmosphere, and your tummy and mood will be super happy!

Rolls were the best part, they were bigger than normal and very fresh. Steaks were overcooked but still tasted good. Served was fine, kinda dull.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Over the last 5 years, Texas roadhouse has been in a steady decline, and i guess that I was a gluten for punishment, because I stayed with them thru their decline. The McCandless PA location is by far the worst location that I have been to. So, last night my son and I decided to have a guys night out and he picked Texas roadhouse McCandless PA location, even though we have had more problems at this location than we have had good times. We came in toward the end of the night, about an hour or so before closing. There was still a decent crowd there. We were seated and give some hot rolls and butter, the signature item everyone needs. (One previous visit, we were never given rolls, you can find my review about that on here somewhere). We were not asked if we had been there before, which is supposed to be a scripted part of the experience. Our server was Maddie and she ended up being the best part of the entire experience, due to her friendly and caring personality and attitude. She seemed to take the issue of the night personally even after being reassured multiple times that we knew it wasnt her fault. We did not order an appetizer due to the fact that we love the blooming onion, but literally the last 3 times that we have ordered it, from this location, it was disgusting. Either burnt, nasty oil flavor, or not cooked all the way and literally dough in between the petals. My son ordered the 8oz Salmon with veg and a loaded Baked Potatoe. I selected an 18oz ribeye from the case, with the most visible fat on it that I could find. 2nd one from the bottom. I even have the hostess confirm my selection when she verbally said “2nd one from the bottom.” She gave me the ticket and I went and sat down. Then I remembered something, so I called the hostess back over and asked her to let the kitchen know not to cut off the fat, because I have had that happen in the past. How do you select a specific steak and then have the kitchen butcher it after the fact? I ordered as my sides a salad and loaded mashed. Well, we sat and waited and had small talk enjoying being out and the food comes out. My son’s salmon was a pale almost colorless piece of grilled salmon, with a small child sized cup of vegetables and a dry baked potato. My steak came out with a small bowl of loaded mashed potatoes and guess what it didnt have, Any fat. There was a small thin strip of fat, the large interior chunk of fat was cut out. I told that to the person that brought it out and she went to the manager to let her know. The manager told her to tell me that the fat melts completely away due to the rendering process. I told the manager still standing at the hostess station and not at our table that while there is some rendering, complete rendering is a complete lie. She actually doubled down on her lie to the point that I let her know that I am a chef and also a certified butcher. So again. She is a liar. I proceeded to get up and go over to the meat case where guess what we see. THE STEAK I PICKED OUT WAS STILL IN THE CASE. What is the point of picking out a steak only to be brought the wrong one? At this point, she tries to back peddle, and apologize for the screw up, all while having a tone in her voice that even though they will cook the right steak, I was still the problem. I declined to have that steak cooked. With 34 years of working in restaurants in multiple states, the last thing I will ever do is have the kitchen do a rebook. Besides, people dont understand in these situations that I went out for a meal with my son and he has his food. In a rebook situation, he is eating, I am not, then he is finished and I am eating. Thats not having a meal together, thats watching each other eat. So, the manager comes to the table and says that she removed the steak, and would only charge me for the salad. It was this moment that we realized, I was never brought my salad. So I sat there watching my son eat at a time too late to get decent food from anywhere else. I would add more, but im out of spaces to type.

My experience here was the best I could expect. From being able to join the waitlist to cut down our wait time (current health issue) to the service and the food. My family of 6 was very pleased. Thank you to Taylor for accommodating us and to Grayson and crew for the fast service. The entire order was perfect, thank you all!!!

My takeout order yesterday was packaged with care (salad in a bag separate from the hot foods!) and everything was great quality and delicious. I still received a regular side of rolls along with the dozen I paid for – I thought that was a nice touch, I feel that other places have left out the complementary side before in situations like this and I wasn’t expecting to still get them!
I’ve also eaten here alone as a solo diner on a weekday, something that can feel awkward, and my server was SO kind and went out of her way to make sure I wasn’t rushing and that I was enjoying myself properly. Money is always very well spent here!

We visited on a busy Saturday evening, so we anticipated some delays. However, the service challenges extended beyond what would typically be expected during peak hours.
Throughout our visit, multiple items were repeatedly forgotten, and staff members who approached our table often left before we had a chance to communicate our needs. We eventually had to flag down a different server just to request small plates for our appetizer. That individual appeared visibly bothered with us and slammed sopping wet plates on our table.
When our food arrived, our server attempted to deliver another table’s order to us, attributing the mix-up to the team assisting with food running. We requested ranch dressing—again—and were told that the oversight was someone else’s responsibility.
We experienced long gaps without refills or any check-ins, and overall, it felt as though staff were actively avoiding interaction with our table.
While we understand that busy nights can lead to occasional delays, the consistent breakdown in communication and attentiveness made the experience feel disjointed and dismissive.
The food itself was delightful, it’s what brought us there in the first place!

Yum! Really solid food and drinks. Our server was fantastic!!! So sweet, bubbly and kind despite it being crazy busy at the time.
The onion blossom is a must have. Very unique flavor and so delicious.
Drinks were great too, and only 8$ a piece if I remember right. And the rolls, oh the rolls. They are served with cinnamon butter that is to die for. You gotta come give it a try!

Waited over 30 minutes for our to go order that they said was due to the bread. Got home and the bread is dry and burnt. Ordered chicken tenders and got chicken critters and they didn’t even include the sauce.

Texas Roadhouse has an amazing ambience, clean and welcoming. What really stood out to me was their efficient “waiting list” system. We added ourselves to the list before arriving, and despite the crowd, we were promptly seated right on time. The staff is incredibly friendly, always smiling, and eager to help with any questions we had about the menu. The music adds to the lively atmosphere, and watching the staff celebrate special occasions at customers’ tables was a delightful touch. The food was absolutely delicious. Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish!
