My wife had the burrito with brisket and was really happy with her decision. She said the mac and cheese was so good, she could have had that as an entrée.
Finished it off with the bread pudding and man, it was delicious!
Highly recommend!
My server was friendly and very attentive throughout the meal. I started off with a butterscotch root beer, which was so tasty and had a flavor that reminded me of butterbeer from the Harry Potter world — loved it!
For appetizers, I went with the Carolina Gold wings. They were tangy, smoky, and full of flavor, with juicy meat that fell right off the bone. For my main dish, I tried the brisket sandwich. The brisket was tender but could have used a little more seasoning on its own. Once I added the Carolina Gold barbecue sauce, it really brought the sandwich to life and made it delicious.
I also sampled the pulled pork sandwich, which was packed with flavor and paired perfectly with the coleslaw on top. The cornbread was moist and slightly sweet, and the butter on top made it even better. The fries were outstanding — super crispy with that perfect crunch that keeps you reaching for more.
Everything came out fresh and hot, and even the bathrooms were spotless, which says a lot about how well the place is maintained. Overall, I had a great experience and can’t wait to come back to try more items from the menu.
Big thanks to the staff for making my first visit such a good one!
For dinner, had the one meat combo with brisket, baked beans, and potato salad. While the serving size of the brisket was a little small, they tasted great and were really tender. The potato salad and baked beans were both good.
The servers we had were really good as well. Offered quick service and were very attentive. They were on it if our water glasses got below a half to a quarter. Definitely a good place to grab good barbecue.
Second. Staff is spectacular. Gracious, friendly, helpful. Good people period.
Food. WOW!!
I was able to sample brisket , chicken, ribs, sausage, pulled pork
I’m not gonna tell you all were amazing, but they definitely know what they are doing. I rate their food some of the best BBQ in the DMV.
Great Job Texas Jacks.
My first time here and I will be back soon with as many people as I can bring. I’ll recommend Texas Jacks to everyone I know.
Edit: came back a few days later and got a few happy hour items
Ordered takeout brisket nachos, egg rolls, brisket burrito, mac and cheese, cornbread, key lime pie and brownie.
And it all tasted kind of like very salty nothing? And very sweet nothing?
I ordered takeout and while it was packaged nicely, all of the boxes were greasy on the outside and I was missing a few side dressings.
I’ve lived in the area for years and love the external aesthetic/design. But unfortunately it all seems to be just that. An aesthetic.
Save your money and go to another restaurant in the neighborhood.
