exas Cafe Diner is a great spot when we want a solid, comfort-style meal and friendly service. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the overall vibe is welcoming and easygoing.

We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, and it was the kind of plate that keeps us coming back. It comes with crispy corn tortillas, pulled pork, cheddar cheese, two eggs, and is topped with salsa, feta cheese, and cilantro, plus black beans and hash browns on the side. The flavors work really well together, and the mix of textures makes it feel like a full, satisfying meal instead of a basic breakfast.

If you are looking for a diner that can handle classic comfort food and Tex-Mex style breakfast in one place, Texas Cafe Diner is worth a stop. We will be back for sure.

A networking group that I’m a part of (The Local Business Blitz) stopped by today and had lunch. It was absolutely fantastic. I ordered the Cuban Panini with fries and it was absolutely delicious and hit the spot. Service was friendly and helpful. The menu options were quite broad, especially for a diner. So there should be something for just about everyone. Make sure you stop by and check out this local gem located in the Hart of downtown Royce city.

Between 7:30pm-8:00pm, when I walked in, I was quickly greeted by a server, and sat down. My server today was Carson, ( apologizes if I spelled her name wrong ) she was very polite, professional, efficient, and funny, I applaud her, for telling me ahead of time, what was out of stock, for the evening, from what I had ordered, Dr.Pepper, Blackened Grilled Chicken, with broccoli, they were out of mashed potatoes, so they substituted them with fries, and lastly I ordered chocolate cake originally, but was told by Carson they were out of that for the night, so I opted for the carrot cake. Compliments to the chef by the way, all my food was amazing. I know this is my server’s third day, she told me, but I honestly believe she should get a raise asap, she was very quick to attend me, and I saw she rushed to other customers, to assist them as well, she’s truly a hard worker. I tipped her $15 for great service, I will be coming back more often, I recommend this restaurant to anyone, who loves a good ole’ fashioned homemade meal. Once again, thank y’all for everything!

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! I haven’t had a great breakfast from a restaurant in a long time. The dining atmosphere was lit and fun. The food was superb, the customer service was top tier and our waitress was very attentive. As you can see, my daughter and I ordered breakfast and we were not disappointed at all. Every bite just melts in your mouth. We enjoyed ourselves and we will definitely be back.

I’m utterly devastated. I used to rave about this place. The food? Heavenly. The service? Impeccable. I practically lived here. But this Sunday morning was an experience I’d sooner forget.
First of all, the food took an excruciating 40 minutes to arrive. When it finally limped its way to our table, it was stone-cold. And to top it off? A lovely, black, hair was adorning my eggs . I nearly lost my appetite, which is saying something because I was *starving*.
But the real kicker? The manager. Standing there, just *staring* out the window with all the food sitting at the window getting cold and disgusting. Zero urgency, zero care.
Honestly, the only reason this review isn’t a zero-star nightmare is because of our waitress, Sandra. She was the only saving grace of the entire evening. She was the best part of the morning and she was so nice and professional. She was attentive, apologetic for the kitchen’s failings, and genuinely tried to salvage what was left of the experience.
So, thanks to Sandra, I guess I’d come back… but only to tip her. The rest? A total disaster. Avoid this place like the plague unless you’re prepared for a culinary catastrophe.

I wanted simple pancakes and the waitress helped me find the right item. Perfect and she brought my plate, syrup and butter out together. Everything was perfect for what I wanted. So give it a try this location is clean bright and has nice staff and management.

UPDATE 8/24/25: Not sure what happened to this place, but it went from 5 stars to 2. Andvthat’s generous.

First…we received xtra cold decaf coffee. I gather the machine was turned off and no our checked. Couldn’t get our server. She was huddle at the host(ess) counter with 4 other servers talking and laughing.

I ordered chicken fried chicken and eggs. The chicken was SOURED. Not a little soured. 100% pure soured chicken. Next, the eggs were way undercooked and RAW. Next, they forgot my hash browns. Service was subpar. Strange because they had 15 people working and 2 tables of customers.

If the staff would work instead of “playing” & socializing, it would probably be better. Every server walked past napkins and trash on the floor. Looked at it, and kept walking. They need a leader to hold them accountable for a certain level of ethics and service.

The manager did come to our table and was VERY nice. She comped our meal and said if we give them another try they will pay for our meal. Hence why I gave 2 stars. Otherwise ZERO is all I could give.

Fact is they need QUALITY CONTROL, BADLY!!!!

I pray I do not get sick with food poisoning.

UPDATE 1/27/24: Went today for breakfast. Changed ratings from 4 to 5 stars. MY GOODNESS our server Chloe was SPECTACULAR. The service was amazingly fast and accurate. Food was cooked perfectly. I would say this was the best visit we’ve had. DEFINITELY the best dining service in Royse City, Fate, Rockwall, and Rowlett. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for speedy service alone.

UPDATE: Went again today. This place has THE BEST COFFEE, hands down!!!! You MUST try it!!!!!! WOW!
Zanetti Coffee is the best!

We went today, Saturday. Got there around 6:55 AM. They opened promptly at 7 A.M.

We were well greeted and advised we can sit anywhere we like.

Service was prompt and pleasant.

The food was fresh and served prompt as well.

Multiple servers checked on us to ensure all was perfect.

One of the owners and the GM was there, but neither stopped by our table. That would have been a nice, personal touch since there were only a few booths of people there.

You get a LOT of food. Be careful what you order. Lol.

Coffee was spectacular. I normally drink 1 cup, but today I had 4.

Only suggestion would be to add some acoustic panels to the walls to absorb some of the sound/noise. That will really make a difference.

This is a great addition to our downtown area. Exactly what was needed.

We will for sure support this small, local business.

A++

Great food and friendly service! We had the 2AM chicken and waffle and the breakfast burrito — both were delicious. Definitely worth a visit!

My wife and I have been coming here since they opened..breakfast eight to twelve times a month. Thats 4 to 500.00 a month!!She wanted some ranch dressing to go with some chicken and was told we would be charged .75 cents for two tablespoons of dressing. Ridiculous! TEXANS don’t like to be nickel and dimed! Owner needs to rethink. If this continues we will go elsewhere. Not a problem..we will take our business elsewhere where we are not nickel and dimed.

I truly cannot understand why this place has high reviews.
My husband and I decided to finally try it out, and I don’t know about everyone else, but I love little cafes mainly for the homemade foods. What we received were burnt hashbrowns, packaged gravy (I’m a cook and can taste the difference immediately between packaged and homemade), and the worst salmon I’ve ever seen at a restaurant. It was completely unseasoned and overcooked.
My husband and I were blown away and not in a good way. We ate what we could and left.
Giving 2 stars simply because the atmosphere inside was pretty nice, and it was a clean restaurant.
I liked that I could see the orders on the screen and the people moving around the kitchen.
However, I’ll never step foot in here again.
I wouldn’t pay those prices again for food that’s below quality of what I eat at home.
