Disappointing Dining Experience
I recently visited a restaurant based on appealing photos I saw on DoorDash, but I was left thoroughly unimpressed. As a resident of Washington DC, I’ve had my share of great meals, but this one fell flat. Upon arrival, I noticed that everything looked old and uninviting, which was not what I expected from the enticing images online.
The meats were wrapped in a way that didn’t inspire confidence, and sadly, the chicken was dry and lacked flavor. Overall, I regretted trying this place. When I returned my uneaten food, another customer kindly suggested a different restaurant, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing, and I would not recommend trying it.
If you’re considering a meal, make sure to look elsewhere for a better dining experience.

This place is a gem, from great customer service staff, to amazing barbecue. Everything is delicious from brisket tacos, smoke chicken and sausage.

Undercooking a brisket leaves it tough because the collagen doesn’t have time to break down. Cut the slices an inch thick and you’re left with some of the least edible bbq imaginable. Add to the fact that there’s little flavor because the meat is so lean and you’ll have brisket even worse than Dickey’s. The ribs were pretty flavorless. One was decently tender and the other was tough enough I could barely pull it off the bone. The sausage had ok flavor, but was soggy somehow.
I got the mac n’ cheese and broccoli salad as my sides. The mac n’ cheese had no cheese flavor, wash mushy, and tasted like raw macaroni. And who puts carrots and raisins in broccoli salad?

Ok, I was skeptical about gas station BBQ. I have some high standards. Now, before you start, I know it’s not the best ever BBQ I’ve ever had, but it is better than a lot of low-end chains of BBQ. So with that. I had the jalapeño sausage, brisket, and what I thought was loaded mashed potatoes, but to my surprise, when I took a bite, it is loaded scalloped potatoes. And boy, are they delicious. The brisket was moist and didn’t need sauce. The links were the perfect blend of jalapeños and meat. It left the heat without touching the taste buds.
The counter staff were inviting, friendly, and quick. I will be back.

Usually the food and service is good. This day we went out to order some ribs and the jalapeno cheese sausage. There were some language issues to make the person understand what I needed. They had then figured out, but the overall taste was not the usual , the ribs were not the fall of the bone and the sausage was not having the normal flavor ..surely a ‘may try again’ place.

The food in here is awesome. They really know how to get down on the brisket. An employee by the name of Arturo is really friendly. You guys really need to check this place out. It’s a one time experience with the delicious food. Service is fast and everyone is very friendly

Very disappointed in my meal. I ordered ribs, sausage, turkey, roasted corn, and mashed potatoes. The corn has some white stuff with it, making it not just roasted corn. Mashed potatoes were barely ok, now let’s get to the meat. The sausage was nasty!!! The ribs, first off, didn’t even look like ribs, no flavor at all. The turkey was the only thing I was able to eat. Bbq sauce was very watery and basically tasteless.

I’ve been here a few times but one night wanted some fresh fruit as they have small grocery items.. that was my first and last mistake. Yes I know it’s a gas station but I’ve NEVER had problems here before. But finding not only spoiled produce but also molded and rotten fruit was very disappointing. Makes me wonder about the quality of all the food here tbvh .
