Had the Tex Melt Burger for lunch today at Tex Mex. It’s consistently excellent: juicy patty, perfectly melted cheese, and jalapeños that deliver just the right amount of heat. The texture is spot-on, with a nicely toasted bun and fresh, crisp toppings.
I paired it with the waffle fries, which were crispy outside and fluffy inside, and you have to make sure to dip everything in their homemade spicy ranch – creamy with a nice kick. Seriously addictive.
The service is always top-notch too – the owner and staff are genuinely welcoming and friendly, which makes every visit even better.
The menu has a lot of variety, and I keep meaning to try other items, but the burgers are so good I usually stick with them. Only downside: they’re not open for dinner, which is a shame given how many solid options they have. Hoping maybe one day!
Highly recommend Tex Mex for a reliable, flavorful lunch. Everything I’ve had here has been great and it is my go to spot for lunch!

I absolutely love this place! The food is phenomenal and the people are amazing. You’ll be hard pressed to find a more personable crew. It’s been a long time since I got excited for morning restaurants, but Alisha and her staff have made me look forward to going out for breakfast. I highly recommend you give them a try.

I visit Tex-Mex Backroad Grill in Bessemer City all the time, and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently great no matter what I order. The staff recognizes me and is always friendly, which makes it feel like a true neighborhood spot. Their breakfast burritos and homemade salsa are some of my favorites, but honestly everything I’ve tried has been delicious. If you’re looking for a reliable, tasty local Tex-Mex place, this is definitely it!

I moved to Bessemer City 2 months ago. So far the entire move itself has been super unpleasant, but coming over to Tex- Mex ( is my escape from missing home) I have breakfast or lunch with my kids often and it’s definitely one thing I can say that I really enjoy about this place. My 2 toddlers and 10 month old make this place their home when we are here. Feels like we are a perfect family sitting at the dinner table, enjoying a great meal. I feel like I am home. I feel like they’ve joined this journey of a move with me. The love that I was given on my first day here was worth me coming back and giving my last dollar.

Ver clean and friendly staff Michaela is one of our favorite servers. This family has treated our family like their family since day one of opening. The food is very good and prices for a family of five is not bad at all. This spot has become my daily breakfast spot and I look forward to it being here for a long time to come and being a staple of our community. Tex-Mex family you guys rock keep up the good work.

Elisha, Luis and their entire family are AMAZING! Texmex is the best hidden gem in Gaston County. We have been customers for many years, starting in Gastonia and now their second location in Bessemer City. You couldn’t find any better people who make you feel more like family when they know your name as soon as you walk in. The food is always outstanding the service is just the same even during busy times. Please if you are in the New Hope area of Gastonia or Bessemer City, stop in and try them, they will not disappoint!
