You’re traveling.. you find yourself on a Sunday night in Hungry Horse Montana… and you’re hungry.. as a horse! But it is around 7 and the few places that serve food are closed or going to close. But you see Tex and Jerry’s is open. You don’t realize it, but you’re in for a treat. The place isn’t fancy.. but it is clean and friendly, although it takes a little while for the waitress to get to you because she’s working alone … on would ordinarily be a quite night. But she just got slammed with a bunch of people coming in. She comes over and gives you some menus to look at and explains … in her friendly way, that she’ll be awhexpected. The menu isn’t large, but has some choices we like. But she really doesn’t take that long. And she’s friendly and pleasant even under pressure. She gets our drinks, (again not a wide selection, but a good variety with some local brews, plus some nice wine options) takes our order. Then the food comes out. Quicker than we expected. This is when we realized God was smiling on us. The food was AMAZING. My gyros was huge. And my wife’s Reuben was the BEST I can remember EVER having! I should have e had that!! It was delicious! So this place may be newer, but if they can find more good help like our waitress, and Their food stays as delicious as ours, and the portions stay generous, this place has a good future!
Oh.. our daughter got the grilled cheese with turkey. It was adult sized! One would have easily fed two of our grandkids (who weren’t with us.

We were wandering around Montana post a long hike!
hungry, lost, and spiritually broken, when suddenly we stumbled upon Tex & Jerrys. Little did we know, we had just discovered the sandwich promised land.
The moment we walked in, Melody greeted us with such radiant kindness that I briefly checked to make sure she wasn’t secretly an angel in disguise. She welcomed us not like customers, but like family……you know, if family actually liked you. For one reckless moment, I almost proposed marriage to her, but didn’t wanna be that guy.
Now, the food? Holy sandwich gods. The Reuben, the Gyro, the Italian, each one so good it made me question every life choice that led me to eating literally anywhere else. The salads? Shockingly delicious. And the hot sauce?
The hot sauce deserves its own holy scripture. One drop and I was sweating, crying, and maybe seeing into alternate timelines. It burned, it healed, it baptized me. My tears weren’t just from spice, they were tears of gratitude, of love, of a man reborn in sandwich fire.
I heard they also host live music, though I didn’t get to see it. And honestly, I’m relieved, because if the bands are even half as good as the sandwiches, my fragile heart wouldn’t have survived the day.
Leaving was the hardest part. In fact, I was ready to build a log cabin next door and devote my life to becoming Tex & Jerrys most loyal disciple. Unfortunately, I remembered I have a blind dog waiting at home, so priorities. But I’ll be back.
Oh, and did I mention Melody? Because she deserves her own standing ovation.

Stumbled across this GEM of a spot for a late lunch! Jess was our server and we had a ball speaking to her and getting to know her briefly! She gave us the history on the name to the restaurant- added that the food was FANTASTIC! The other server Hayden was just as bubbly and sweet!! hands down the best experience for our 4 day trip to glacier national park!

I’ve been to so many places and usually put off writing reviews, but this awesome spot made me want to do it right away. I got there late and Mike, who’s a chef and manager, greeted me, super friendly and polite. I ordered a Reuben sandwich, which I’d never had, and it was so good! Mike even told me the story behind Tex and Jerry, the horses’ names in Hungry Horse. I’d love to come back and try more food on the menu with my significant other next time. ❤️

My husband says this is the best Rueban, ever. I enjoyed the club. Huge and delish. Sour dough toasted perfectly. Relaxed atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating.

The food is fantastic and so is Mike!! My boyfriend and I love coming here. The atmosphere is cozy, fun, and laid back. Mike is so fun to chat with and the smash burger + sweet spicy chili wings are AMAZING. I can’t have gluten – they do have gluten free buns for the fellow gluten free people!

We have been wanting to try this place since it opened! We haven’t had his food since the Columbia bar. We came on New Years day before taking a drive in the park! We had the place to ourselves. It is decorated very nicely and fits the vibe! We both had the specials of the day. A double smash burger and a Philly cheesesteak! They did not disappoint! So much flavor and the serving sizes were my husband is rather picky when it comes to burgers and he was more than happy with his choice! I got a pic of mine before I dug in, but not my hubby’s burger. We can’t wait to come for Taco Tuesday! We will definitely be back with the family! This is a must stop in the canyon!

Hayden was great for Sunday Brunch. It was busy but she took care of everyone very well and was very kind and helpful. She gave us suggestions for food (which were spot on). The “Dirty Bird” was an awesome breakfast my husband and I split. The facility was clean, great service and great food. We are excited to come back in the summers on our way home from glacier.
Thanks guys!

If you don’t have time to stop for lunch, make time…at least for a carryout order. The sandwiches are large and yummy. We had lunch here prior to going kayaking. We are planning to come back.
