Hands down, the best teriyaki beef I’ve ever tasted, so flavorful and tender! The shrimp tempura was light and crunchy, melting in your mouth. Our waiter was very polite, and the service was top-notch. The shasimi was super fresh and so tender! We knew it would be great when we arrived and spotted the double rainbow over the restaurant. They did not disappoint!

Portions are huge, seating very limited, and no reservations. Service friendly and fast. Note, we were told you just sit outside on the bench and the host will come pick you up and seat you in order, which was long and a long wait for a Wednesday night. We decided to place a take out order while we waited and that was a much speedier choice. We ordered the Shrimp Tempura as it came highly recommended. It comes with 4 huge pieces of shrimp and 4 veggies, miso soup, pickled veg, cabbage, and rice.

Best restaurant of our first trip the Big Island!! Service was very attentive. They were so humble for what delicious food they made. I had the famous shrimp tempura plate and my husband had the fish. Both were incredible. We went for the history(see their website) but would 10000% go back for the meals and service 🙂

A friend recommended me this place and it was an absolutely lovely experience. Staff was above and beyond, food was incredible, and the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. Would recommend any of the tempura or sashimi and the tempura Oreos were a surprise smash hit with my family. Planning on coming back as soon as I can!

Delicious food and awesome service. We had to find a place that was open late and this was the perfect place! Recommend sharing one of the combo plates and an appetizer. If you’re really hungry than you may be able to finish. I ordered #3 combo and it had miso soup, a main dish (shrimp tempura) sashimi, noodles and rice! Perfect to try a little bit of everything.

Breakfast choices are a bit limited, and I say that because I LOVE their Portuguese Sausage Omelet, but it’s only available for lunch and dinner. Boo! However their bentos are A1, comes with everything you see in the video I ordered two because my eyes were more hungry than my tummy ‍♀️ Oh well, these leftovers will definitely be eaten! My husband got their NY Steak and Eggs, which also comes with a pancake. We were extra full after this $60 meal and we ALWAYS GO BACK to eat again! Try them

This place has legitimately great food. Most of us got the dinner plates with sashimi and tempura. Huuuge portions and lovely service. My mom doesn’t eat raw fish so she ordered the butterfish. The server was so kind and said, “if you don’t like it, we’ll cook you up something else.” She ended up loving it. Highly recommend this low-key spot for great food!

Delicious traditional Japanese food. The beef sukiyaki was flavorful and filled with veggies, glass noodles and tender beef. The omelette fried rice was savory and the egg was fluffy.

This was one of my favorite restaurants I tried while visiting the big island! We ordered the Teishuko with fried fish and it was absolutely satisfying and delicious! Not sure what kind of green tea was served alongside but it was perfect and tasty. Service was super friendly!

Gets crowded. Tried the Friday special, it was good! Beef sukiyaki was also delicious. Authentic Japanese cuisine. Service was a bit slow but maybe it’s the island way.
