⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As someone who grew up in Chester, it’s truly inspiring to see a reinvestment in our city through a restaurant like Terrell’s. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warmth and professionalism. Ryan guided me through the experience, and his hospitality set the tone for an unforgettable visit.

The atmosphere is inviting, the menu is outstanding, and the food speaks for itself—seasoned perfectly and presented beautifully. This is the kind of five‑star dining experience you’d expect to travel out of town for, yet it’s right here in our community.

I will absolutely be returning, and I’ll be encouraging others to come and experience what I did firsthand. Chester deserves places like this, and I hope Terrell’s continues to thrive and see an incredible return on their investment. Our city needed this, and I couldn’t be more proud to support it.

Everyone at the table enjoyed their food and would go back. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because they do not serve Mimosas or Brunch cocktails because of no license. The wait staff was attentive and steadily on their feet making sure the room was clean

Get yourself ready for the TERRELLS experience.
Situated in the the heart of the Chester downtown ever re-developing business district, Terrell’s is the new kid on the block (403 Avenue of the States). This up and coming new eatery will not disappoint . The ambience, and attention to dining comfort, is above and beyond! It boasts spacious seating and and eye-catching furniture and fixtures! Soothing R & B sets the mood. The place is just a treat to the eye and the palate. The menu is accommodating and extensive. I selected the “build yor own” for breakfast, just to sample a little of everything I want in a breakfast meal. Thematic were cook to perfection (especially the scrapple) and my lovely wife had an omelet with fried potatoes! The food was decent in its presentation and taste. Distinctive flavors, were present and we had a delightful server experience. We were visited by the owner an head chef , Terrell and he introduced us to his partner in life and business Mrs. TERRELL (Her name escapes me) but she was an absolute GEM !! Don’t miss out on this one, Get there soon , and tell them The LoveByrds, sent ya!!!

Food: The food here is nothing short of incredible. Whether you are going for breakfast or dinner, every dish feels like it was made with love. The Seafood & Grits and the Peach Cobbler Pancakes are absolute game-changers for brunch. If you’re stopping by for dinner, the Oxtails and Brown Sugar Salmon are perfectly seasoned and tender. You can really taste the “Southern heart” in the collard greens and mac & cheese—it’s authentic soul food at its finest.
Service & Customer Service: The staff at Terrell’s makes you feel like family from the moment you walk through the door. The service is attentive without being overbearing, and the team is genuinely proud of the food they serve. They are more than happy to give recommendations, and even during busy rushes, the hospitality remains top-notch. It’s clear they care about the Chester community and every guest who visits.
Ambiance: The vibe is warm, inviting, and down-to-earth. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for a cozy weekend breakfast or a relaxed dinner with friends. It has a great local energy—clean, well-kept, and filled with the mouth-watering aroma of home cooking. It’s a true staple in the city that offers a comfortable escape with great music and even better food.
Overall: If you’re in Chester or just passing through, Terrell’s is a must-visit. High-quality ingredients, massive portions, and some of the best customer service in the area. I’ll definitely be back!Food: The food here is nothing short of incredible. Whether you are going for breakfast or dinner, every dish feels like it was made with love. Terrell’s Restaurant in Chester, PA is a new, Black-owned spot with promise, but our visit fell short today. My cousin (who is pregnant) and I came for Sunday brunch and ordered fish and grits and fish and waffles. Both dishes lacked flavor and didn’t feel freshly prepared. After we ordered, it took about 45 minutes before only half of our food arrived, and several other families seemed to experience similar delays.

What concerned me most was how management addressed issues in the center of the dining room. The owner, Terrell, and his wife were disputing conversation openly rather than taking clear accountability for the service and food quality that day, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. At the same time, staff were staging social media photos right next to our table, with cameras and lighting on the dining tables while the kitchen was behind on orders. The food in the photos looked better than what we received, which felt misleading and distracting during our meal.

Service was inattentive (4/10), and overall we left unsatisfied. I appreciate local businesses and truly want this restaurant to succeed, especially as a new establishment that opened in October 2025. With better time management, consistency in the kitchen, and more professional handling of customer concerns, Terrell’s could become the strong community restaurant it aims to be.

Since this restaurant is fairly new, I’m going to extend a lot of grace. We arrived at 6:40 p.m. on a Thursday evening. The vibe is amazing, and the waitstaff were very pleasant. I enjoyed the music so much that I even asked the staff for their playlist information. Now, onto the food. I ordered the fried chicken (wings) with two sides: candied yams and fried cabbage. My colleague ordered fried catfish with collard greens and macaroni and cheese; however, we were informed they were out of collard greens, so she opted for fried cabbage instead. My chicken came out nice and hot, which was a plus. The wings were incredibly big, but were somewhat tough. The fried cabbage was okay, but it had far more shredded carrots than cabbage and was over-seasoned with herbs. The candied yams weren’t bad. I did, however, have the opportunity to taste my colleague’s macaroni and cheese, and to me, that was the winner of the night, it was delicious. Each meal came with a dinner roll, but adding cornbread to the menu would really elevate the “soul food” dinner experience. I can’t speak to dessert, as they had run out. In spite of some opportunities for improvement, I would absolutely visit again.

My husband and I decided to support this local business. I ordered 2 chicken wing platters one with greens and black eyed peas and the second with yams and string beans. I also ordered a side of yams when I got there I sent my daughter in there she only came out with the side order of yams. I had to go in and the atmosphere is warm and inviting the host is very attentive. I was escorted to the bar I spoke with someone about my order she said the ticket did not print. I showed her my receipt and she stated she did not have the two side so I requested yams and mac no problem. She came back to verify my order again. I waited 45 minutes for my order I thank her and I left. When I got home both platters was not what I ordered. The platters had chicken beast, a drum stick and a wing; it was dry and seemed like it was store brought. The other platter had the same dry chicken parts no mac or yams it had string beans and rice. I was very disappointed! I know they just recently open it was just a bad first experience I most likely will not do takeout from there again. I believe I will have a better experience dining in.
