It was good but the food needed more flavor. The salsa didn’t have any flavor. Salt sadly didn’t help either. The service was okay. They weren’t very busy so I expected service to be a little better. Not a lot of options in horse cave. I would go back and try something different. Easy location to get to.

We were in Horse Cave, KY, for an off-trail tour at Hidden River Cave. After a long hike through the cave (and washing off the mud), we were starving. We searched for restaurants nearby and found out that Terrazul was really close by.
When we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile and were seated in a booth right away. The restaurant has a nice, clean decor that fits in nicely with its Mexican menu.
Speaking of the menu, OMG! It is massive, and there are so many tasty items, we had a hard time choosing what to order. We’ll definitely be back soon so we can try more of the menu.
My daughter and I both ordered grilled chicken and grilled steak quesadillas, while my wife ordered the grilled beef tips burrito and my son had the enchiladas del mar (with shrimp and scallops). He wanted to order the birria pizza as well, but he was too full to order it.
My wife and I also shared a pitcher of margaritas on the rocks. I love it when you can order a pitcher so you can refill your drinks whenever you want vs waiting for a server to bring another order.
Our server was attentive and had some great suggestions of what to order. We visit Horse Cave regularly for the Hidden River Cave, Kentucky Down Under, Dutch Country Safari Park, and Horse Cave KOA. Terrazul will definitely be on our short list of places to eat! Especially since it is veteran owned, and we love to support our veterans.

Mexican restaurant right in the middle of Horse Cave. The food here is good. Service was fine. The price is about the same as the rest of the Mexican restaurants in this area. All of these Mexican restaurants need a cheesy rice option on the kids meal for under $5, IMO.

Great Mexican food. Warm chips and salsa were good. They have a spicy red salsa if you ask. I had the Traditional Chimichanga plate. It looks like shredded beef. My wife had Carnitas Taco plate. Staff were attentive and refilled chips and fountain drinks without prompting. They had 5 flavors of Jarritos sodas, but not our favorite grapefruit. I didn’t like the wide range of music when we arrived. I don’t know if the employees switched to their favorite, gang, station in the late afternoon. I mentioned the music choice as we arrived and it did eventually return to traditional music.

Our favorite local Mexican restaurant! The staff are very friendly and provide fast service! Their salsa is the best. We typically dine weekly and enjoy a variety of menu options. Their menu is unique and offers items you won’t find at any other local spots. The birria authentico tacos are a favorite. The margaritas are wonderful!

It was a polite friendly atmosphere. In a very clean environment. The food and service was fast and attentive. Will defintley be coming back here again. The prices our more than fair if not on the better value. For what you get worth every penny honestly. The gauc casero super fresh. The salsa is amazing they didn’t skimp on cilantro either.

Great choice! The food was awesome, as well as the service! Easy access. We were seated in no time even though they were a little busy. Food came quick and wow! The usual stuff and several choices I’d never seen before. All 5 of us were happy. Try it.

Went for a bike ride to horse cave to see Kentucky down under. Pulled off at a sunoco gas station so we could decide what to eat since we haven’t had nothing all day, and bam… there is a small Mexican grill right across the road from us. So we decided to give a shot, because what is one food everyone loves? Grilled chicken with some guacamole and a beer to wash it down. As soon as we walked into the doors we was greeted with a warm welcome nice conversation. Our host was amazing and the service was unmatched. There salsa was nice a spicy, chicken was delicious, but the kicker is the guacamole. I have never and I mean never had guacamole this amazing. If your driving through or around horse cave I would with out a hesitation stop in and grab a bite. You won’t regret it.
