Reviews
From a clean and homey feel to the restaurant it’s self, family owned! The staff were amazing, polite, friendly, and also great conversation on this gloomy Sunday. They really made it feel like you were seated at their table at home.
And now some of the best sea food appetizers I’ve ever had outside of Europe… I will most definitely be returning on a regular basis! Here were the dishes me and my husband ordered. 10/10!!!!
Super fresh, athentic, simple ingredients done very well.
Will definitely be coming back!!
Staff are friendly and very tentative, food came out pretty quickly
Flaming sausage 2/5 pretty dry, there was barely any flame and it only lasted for 3 seconds
Bitoque 2/5 the steak was super thin like 4mm, the waitress asked how I liked my steak done, I said medium rare and it came out well done. It was tough to eat. The fries were quite soggy, the rice was okay
Octopus 2/5 the menu says drizzled with olive oil and it was drenched in olive oil soup, as seen in my picture. It was very bland, not seasoned or salted at all, so all I tasted was garlic and oil. This was the most disappointing though because I saw a picture on here for the octopus dish on a white plate and this one came out very different. It’s edible but I wouldn’t pay $35 for this
We also tried the Portuguese tart from the bakery that’s attached and was also pretty disappointed. 1/5 the crust was very hard and chewy, very difficult to bite apart. Not similar to any of the Portuguese bakeries I’ve been to in the GTA or in Portugal
Unfortunately I wouldn’t come back here a second time
Chicken was dry and no flavour
Fries looks like they been sitting for couple hours and came very little in the box
Rice was very little no flavour, mushy and watery
Don’t believe any of the other reviews
Other Portuguese spots you get your money’s worth with fresh food.
Never again.
Don’t waste your money
Call the restaurant and made a complaint. The lady that answered said to come back and talk to the owner. It’s like people have time to do that
There couple other spots in town where you can your moneys worth
Really enjoyed the flavourful dishes, you really get more than what you pay for. Highly recommended for those who want a quality meal without breaking the bank.
The staff were incredibly attentive and made us feel very welcome. Excellent environment, friendly service, great menu choices and really decent food. Will be back!
Special mention: the Fresh Cut Fries are “TOP”
My one suggestion would be to use a better cut of steak for the Bitoque. Maybe you can use the same as Bife à Casa and just charge a couple bucks more
