I just ate at Terra, and the experience was amazing. From the moment we walked in, everything felt welcoming and well put together, making it a great place to enjoy a meal.
The food was outstanding. Every dish was full of flavor, made with high-quality ingredients, and presented really well. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were perfect.
The service made the experience even better. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great time. Overall, Terra delivered an excellent dining experience, and I would absolutely go back and recommend it to anyone.

I WOULDN’T GIVE A DOG FOOD FROM THIS PLACE & I DON’T EVEN LIKE ANIMALS. Terrible food and service! Went here for dinner with some friends, everyone at the table received food that was cold. This $60 so called “ribeye steak,”looks more like that Salisbury steak crap from a tv dinner & these were supposed to be truffle fries but had zero truffle. The other dish had dry thick pasta and whatever slop they called a sauce on top of it. We even went to their website prior to going & what we received looked nothing like the pics we saw for the exact same dish that was ordered based off the website pics. Our server (Mary) was unknowledgeable, not attentive, laughed when we voiced our dissatisfaction, nonchalant and seemed irritated. When we complained to the manager (Mark) he appeared to be uninterested in our concerns & walked away in mid sentence while we were talking to him. Said “he had a lot to deal with” Duh you’re freaking managing a restaurant. Then they charged us an auto 20% gratuity on a party of 3 for this trash. Mind you it wasn’t very crowded on this particular evening & we had reservations. I’m already apprehensive about eating out cause restaurants don’t seem to value quality anymore but this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had of my entire life. DO NOT GO HERE! Overpriced and underwhelmed, I hate that I couldn’t give them a ZERO the only thing nice about this place is the decor & the hostess.

Ambiance and location are good. Great spot for a larger group as well. The service was just ok, but I think our server was probably new. The food was not bad. I had the lemon chicken with pasta which was pretty tasty. Overall not a bad place, but nothing to go crazy over. I also appreciate that they take reservations as this is a busy location on the weekends.

First visit to Terra Kitchen two weeks ago with friends and came away impressed with this new addition to the Birmingham restaurant scene. The place was packed when we arrived for our reservation (a must) but we were seated pretty much on time. They did a great job renovating the space. The restaurant has a great vibe, very cosmopolitan giving you the feeling like you are in NYC or San Francisco. It has a very cool wrap around bar which was also packed. One note….if you are looking for a place to converse with your friends particularly if you have more than 4 people, this restaurant is VERY loud, even by today’s standards for new restaurants which seem to be designed to be loud. We ordered house balkan bread to start along with crispy calamari strips. Both were excellent. The bread was light and airy (the dip that accompanied the bread had feta which I do not eat but everyone else said it was really good) and the calamari cooked perfectly and very tender. I also ordered a bowl of chili just added for the fall season. It was delicious and just spicy enough to satisfy most people. My wife and I ordered the crispy chicken caesar sandwich and the Bulgogi off the appetizer menu to share for our meal. The artisian baguette was excellent and the chicken was nicely prepared and very tender. The Bulgogi was outstanding…..I could have ordered two of those for my meal (maybe 3, ha ha) and been happy. I would return here just for those. Our friends ordered the truffle orecchiette and a tuna poke bowl and enjoyed those as well. The one “miss” were the fries that came with the crispy chicken caesar sandwich and the truffle parmesan fries one of our friends ordered. We all felt they fell short. Not sure how to describe them other than like “flat iron” fries. I suggest the chef consider changing the fries up. I included some photos and I apologize that a couple of the photos are not up to my usual standards. I highly recommend Terra if you are looking for a fun night out and some terrific food.

From the moment you walk in the hostesses are smiling, friendly, very attentive, no wait with your reservation, comfortable seating, earthy atmosphere, good music, drinks, excellent food for the price AND portion sizes. The appetizers are actually so big you’ll probably need a Togo box for your entree which is very rare in Birmingham. Excellent job, will definitely be back.

I have heard mixed reviews about this place but still have been wanting to try it for a while. Made a Sunday lunch reservation and asked to be seated near the TV’s so we could watch the football games. The manager changed the channel for us so we could watch two different games at the same time and we appreciated that. The interior decor was beautiful, very modern with lots of photo opportunities.
Our server helped us with food recommendations and was excited when we settled on the TerraNova Burger since that is their event-exclusive burger creation for the Birmingham Burger competition happening this month. It was super juicy, the sauce was tasty but it was very messy and fell apart. I was only able to take a few bites as a sandwich until I had to pick it all up and eat the rest with a fork.
We also tried the butternut squash gnocchi that they had featured on their specials menu. The flavor was in the sauce but the gnocchi itself was not very good. We only liked the first bite and after that it, it was hard to continue eating.
The fattoush salad was very cute with presentation on breaking the pita dome to get to the salad and it was super flavorful. Just enough dressing and the pita bread was a good amount to go with the salad. We enjoyed it very much.
We also got the spicy tuna crispy rice and it was good. I wanted to try one of the other crispy rice items as well since I liked the spicy tuna but I was so full up to that point.
Our drinks were not too strong and very cute but our server did forget about them until we asked for them halfway through our meal. They were a bit watered down from sitting at the bar for that amount of time. A friend told me their favorite drink is the Strange Aura and recommended it to me but when I asked about it our server said the owner had removed it from the menu and she was super disappointed about it too. Maybe one day they’ll bring it back.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience and I would come again if a friend asked me to.

We had reservations at 745pm, arrived early and the table was ready to go. Alittle loud due to it being very crowded on a Wednesday night. All four of us loved every bite. Orded the French dip, was hesitant to order with fries but glad I did, best steak fries I ever had. Lobster tacos, lemon chicken and wago steak all were cooked perfect. Would recommend to anyone in the area. Probably why it was so busy on a Wednesday.

We recently celebrated my wife’s birthday at Terra, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Our planning manager, Marco, was incredible. He helped us secure the beautiful room upstairs and made sure everything was perfect for the occasion.
A special mention also goes to our amazing waitress, Mya, who went above and beyond all evening. She was attentive, friendly, and professional. Even while looking after a large group of over 20 people (plus other tables), she made sure we always had what we needed and never felt unattended.
The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and enjoyed by everyone in our group. It was truly a memorable night, and we’re so grateful to Marco, Mya, and the whole Terra team for making it so special.

Mya the server was fantastic and very attentive 🙂 The food was great. Keep in mind the happy hour menu is only at the bar. I’m so used to how it used to look when it was Chen chow and the Morrie but the new design is very nice. Someone must’ve been making out on the light switches because it kept going from bright to dim. ( Bright lights in a restaurant Seems like a cafeteria and not in inviting so we preferred the dim light:)

Terra has a stylish space and the service was warm and attentive, which I really appreciated. The food itself was solid — the pesto pasta with pine nuts was flavorful and comforting, and the small plates (like the fritters) were nicely presented. Dessert looked beautiful too, especially the rich chocolate cake.
That said, the vibe wasn’t really my cup of tea. The TVs playing throughout the restaurant took away from the otherwise cozy atmosphere I was hoping for. If you don’t mind having screens on while dining, you may enjoy the ambiance more than I did.
