Fantastic Italian restaurant with in house made pasta and sauces! The lasagna and the chocolate cake were amazing. Everyone loved their meals.

This place is really unique and has a lot of history. I would recommend dining here for the rich history. There’s a page on the menu all about the house.

We were greeted by Teresa’s own granddaughter. Our large group was seated in the back room.

They have a large menu and everything comes with soup and salad. My friend and I decided to split our entree since our group ordered a few appetizers to share. The waitress asked if we wanted soup and salad for both of us (for the one entree order) so we said yes.

Beware! We were never told that it was an additional $21! I can understand $5 extra, but the $21 upcharge is a little ridiculous considering that the soup and salad came out in huge bowls served family style anyways. We did complain at the end when we were presented with the bill and discovered how much it was. It was taken off but the waitress wasn’t happy about it.

The food was good but some thought theirs was a bit on the plain side. I liked my shrimp scampi dish. The rib eye was also good and a huge portion.

I recently learned of Teresas Place and glad I did! This is where you want to go when you want legit Italian food. Reminds me of how the old world Italians really took pride in their dishes and only use the best fresh quality ingredients. The results speak for themselves. The atmosphere, historical value and hospitality are also 10 out of 10 from my experience.
… now for the CHEESECAKE! WOW! I use to think ruth chris had the best cheesecake. Not anymore! You all need to try the cheesecake. Its like no other and might be the best in the world!

This restaurant is my favorite Italian food I think I’ve ever had. First you start with a homemade minestrone soup that is fresh, tasty and great quality. My entire family finished their bowl which never happens because we typically “save our appetite for our main dish” but it was just that good. The salad was delicious and had so many toppings. My family said the ranch was the best they’ve had, I enjoyed the house dressing that came with the salad. We ordered the corn bites as an appetizer; they were phenomenal. Exceeded expectations. Then our main dishes came out. Although we were already full from the fresh delicious starters I couldn’t help trying mine. I got the chicken parm with alfredo pasta. The portion was large – it was cooked perfectly. Overall, this is a sweet local gem, don’t miss it!

I stopped at 3 wineries and all of them recommended this place for dinner. They were SO right!! I had minestrone, salad, and some chicken dish, and their house wine. Everything was great, but I gotta say the staff and the ambiance outshined the food. I got to sit by the fireplace (WOOD BURNING FIREPLACE!!!! ) and had the room almost to myself. …and I left with another case of wine. I would SO eat here again!!

Hands down the best Italian food to be found in Amador County.

The food was exceptional, the decor and ambiance is fantastic, and the staff are the friendliest we have ever encountered.

The portions are quite large, and the pricing is more than fair.

My wife and I were in the Jackson area for my birthday, and based on the reviews and an overwhelming craving for Italian food, I decided Teresa’s Place might be a good place to stop for a pre-birthday dinner.

The ambience of the place is perfect as a result of the color scheme and the lighting. The staff was mostly friendly, and the Christmas decor was lovely.

They served us bread not two minutes after we sat down, and that was followed quickly by some piping hot soup. About ten minutes later we had the calamari appetizer that we ordered. They also provided with a house salad to share. I ordered the linguine with clams as my entree, and my wife ordered the salmon. To finish it off, we let our waitress know that it was my birthday and we ordered a slice of chocolate cake to share.

Here are the items we ordered from tastiest to least tastiest:

1. Calamari: It was incredible. I can’t say enough good things about it. The batter was perfectly seasoned and the calamari was the right texture. So good!
2. Salmon: Tender on the inside and a nice crust on the outside. Also nicely seasoned and yummy.
3. Chocolate cake: Every bit as good as the salmon. Spongy and not too rich, and the frosting was delectably firm and delicious.
4. Soup: Neither too bland nor too flavorful, but had just the right balance. Something about it seemed to incredibly healthy. I thought to myself, “If I had a cold, I’m pretty convinced this soup would reverse the effects.”
5. Salad: Good salad! The dressing was perfectly balanced.
6. Bread: The bread was soft and pretty good. There was nothing that really stood out about it, but of course, the butter elevated it to the next level.
7. Linguine with clams: Good, but not among the best I have had. This was the only dish I needed to add salt to, as I felt there was just not enough flavor. I also thought that maybe the sauce could have been a bit thicker; it was a little watery. My wife had a small side of spaghetti with her salmon, and I thought her spaghetti was superior to my linguine. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to order the dish again, but the clams were certainly very good.

All in all, we loved Teresa’s Place and hope to return some day!

I enjoyed the salmon, salad and soup. The spaghetti side was OK and the bread was super market level. The oddest part of the experience is we had a reservation but when we got there we still had to wait 20 min for the first available table to seat a party of 6. So there does not appear to be a benefit to making a reservation. They also seem to try and hurry you through the meal.

This is my #1 go to for Italian food. They’ve been open since 1921 and their delicious food and phenomenal wine is completely out of this world. I felt like I traveled back in time sitting at the best table, next to the woodburning fireplace. I will be coming back 100% when I crave authentic Italian.
