Place seems nice when you walk in. Staff was friendly, but inept, but one waitress started today and the other had been there for only about two weeks. they were not sure how to answer my question when I asked, if their beef was seasoned. She had to go into the kitchen and ask. I asked if the shredded chicken was seasoned. Had to run back into the kitchen. We ordered drinks that never arrived. Place does not seem clean, and kind of happy we never got the drinks because of that. I reluctantly turned down dessert “on the house”. Owner/manager didn’t even come to apologize, he sent the waitress. Didn’t say anything to us even while making eye contact as we were walking out the door. Sorry, we will not be back. I’ll go 2 more miles down the road to the Cuckoo’s Nest.

Wow!!! Great food, great service & great price. Was served by a sprightly young fellow who was managing 5 tables by himself!!!! Super friendly and attentive. Margarita was decent, and my vegetable quesadillas had real vegetables!

First time yesterday, I really enjoyed my shrimp enchiladas in Tomatillo sauce, pinto beans, rice was ok, could of used more spices for my liking but that’s just me. Guacamole was excellent, along with their salsa served with chips. For me it’s one of the better Mexican restaurant along the shoreline between New Haven and Niantic, and I’ve tried a few and have been disappointed by all of them, one I went to twice and will not go for a third (Jalapeno Heaven). I’ve lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix, so I know Mexican food. So far, this is as close to it as I have found. Will definitely return, although a bit of a drive from East Haven, my family lives in Niantic, so when I’m there, I’ll pop in again for sure. Also reasonably priced. Thank you!!

Excellent food, great service, wonderful time. Chips and salsa were good, the queso fundido was a white cheese with jalapeños and spices tasted very good. Definitely the best Mexican food I’ve had in between here and Rhode Island. Jay was our server and he was quick, friendly, and patient. Gracias Tequilas

Been here many times. Food is always great (try the pork!!) and the servers are friendly and accommodating (albeit a bit slow during off hours). Prices are reasonable except for their drinks, but I don’t drink alcohol much so it’s not an issue for me. Would definitely recommend to anyone craving great Mexican food. Best in CT, and I’ve been around!

I went here after eating dinner already and was pretty full.
But it smelled so good inside I couldn’t not get anything. The bacon spinach salad was amazing as well as the table salsa. And I’m not normally a fan of salsa so that’s saying something.
The staff were cool, friendly, and professional.
Would come back again.

I don’t know where to begin to describe how terrible it was here. The place is filthy to start. The menus are literally caked with dried on food , obviously never been wiped down. We were given plates with food stuck to them and dirty utensils which we had to ask for clean but not sure anything is clean in there. The bottle of hot sauce on our table was left with the flip cap up and brown crusted gunk all over the cap and bottle, clearly never wiped down. Besides one other table we were the only customers in there yet there were dirty tables all around that no one cleaned. The tortilla chips were stale and I have tasted better from the grocery store. The salsa was decent. Our appetizer came with our meal despite having requested it come before our meal. Shrimp nachos that were not good and the shrimp was cold. We got a 3 enchilada plate to share and the beef in the one was dry with no flavor, couldn’t eat it. The only good thing was the waiter. He was very attentive but then again there were only 2 tables. We will never go back.

One of the worst Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. Its clear that whoever makes the food or recipes for the menu has never made or eaten true authentic Mexican food. The chips sucked, the table was dirty, and the food was garbage. The service was absolutely terrible. Our waitress was far more interested in hanging out with the bartender then actually waiting on our table. I felt terrible not leaving a large tip but she just sucked. The place wasn’t busy so there was no excuse. The only plus was the salsa was great and the margarita was very tasty. Really though save your money and go somewhere else. This place is terrible and not worth the 4.1 stars it has. Its the only reason I came here.
