Ya’ll gotta come here and try it for yourselves!!
And the horchata is creamy and authentic! No watered down bs real homemade horchata! They put care in the food
The food is made with love from Grandma’s kitchen type of good!
My grandma just passed away a couple weeks ago, and this is actually the first time I’ve tasted food so close to hers in a long while.
As a fellow Latina, not many places actually taste great anymore, aside from my own or family’s cooking.
Fort Wayne, Ya’ll have a gem of a restaurant.
Ya’ll got a forever customer out of me!
The chips and salsa beat us to our table, and the staff refused to let us run out. Every time the bowl got low, someone was already there with a fresh refill.
Thany ordered the chicken quesadilla — packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and ridiculously good. I went with the steak and shrimp burrito, and it might be one of the best I’ve ever had — loaded, tender, and full of authentic flavor.
If you’re anywhere near this place, do yourself a favor and stop in.
5 stars all the way.
From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. Everyone was friendly, and they consistently checked on us throughout the meal without being overbearing. Our server, Stephanie, was fantastic—professional, kind, and on top of everything.
The atmosphere is vibrant and lively, but still comfortable enough to sit back and enjoy your meal. The food? Absolutely delicious. I had the steak burrito covered in queso with rice and beans, and it was outstanding—flavorful, perfectly cooked, and generously portioned. The chips and salsa kept coming whenever we asked, which I always appreciate. The drinks were also great, and next time I’m definitely trying the Peach Margarita.
I also want to highlight their customer service and accessibility. When I mentioned seating preferences, they immediately removed chairs and let us sit wherever we felt most comfortable. That kind of flexibility and willingness to accommodate really stands out. It’s clear they care about their guests.
Tequila Cantina is a family-owned local business that truly deserves high praise. The quality, service, and overall experience just keep getting better and better. I’ll definitely be back again. I also want to mention accessibility for anyone who may be visiting in a wheelchair. The entrance is accessible, and the staff was very accommodating with seating. The tables are slightly lower than average, but I was able to roll underneath comfortably to about knee level. That said, having at least one slightly higher table option could be helpful for wheelchair users who may prefer a bit more clearance or easier access to the table surface.
This isn’t a complaint at all—just a small suggestion that could make an already welcoming space even more inclusive for everyone. The team was more than willing to adjust seating and remove chairs when asked, which I truly appreciated. P.S i forgot to take pictures because the food was so good, it smelled amazing i was distracted
Yet, I want to brag on another aspect of the owners of this restaurant. Ben & Raul, go out of their way to give back to the community in many different ways. They not only treat their employees like family they also provide fundraisers that significantly help the community. I can testify to this because I am a teacher and for two years running now they have not only blessed us with a day and a percentage of meals from customers coming from our school, but they always give more than we earned. They love giving back!
I highly recommend Tequila Mexican Restaurant & Cantina for your family or evening night out with your business, you won’t regret it!
Tableside guacamole was very good, in addition of pork rinds on top was a pleasant.
Shrimp tacos were fantastic, and the birria chimichanga was 10/10 and completely stuffed with meat. Tilapia Mexicana is pretty much the perfect dish!
Elote side was also great.
Only issue we noted was the happy birthday song which played 2 to 3 times, was fun but incredibly loud!
This restaurant is a vibrant and energetic place to be, whether you are dining in or taking it to go.
Both owners or managers (one male and one female –I’m so sorry I do not have their names) bend over backwards to provide excellent service and correct any errors that might have taken place during the process of your order arriving.
The ingredients are of high quality and the different recipes taste delicious. The chef can be a little heavy-handed with the salt, at times but overall, it is always a pleasure having their food.
