Let’s not forget the TEQUILA. Of course, Mama uses plenty of booze in her margaritas to lighten the mood. On occasion she will even open up the floor for some dancing and entertainment. This place is amazing. The food is so good, the service is excellent. They have music in English and Spanish. This place has many cool spots were you can take pictures. I went for Valentines Day and everything was decorated so pretty. This place has a an incredible rooftop. I really enjoyed every second at the Buford, GA location.

However I did encounter two employees behind the bar taking out trash and changing the trash cans make drinks and serve food without washing their hands or taking off the gloves.
The manager of the night Angel rubbed me the wrong way, he had some type of attitude I think because I’m a black woman with dreads he didn’t know that I understood his conversation about my husband and I. It was very off putting the body language and hand movements with the stank face gave it away. No I don’t speak Spanish however I have translating earbuds and this man is definitely RUDE. The restaurant is amazing but the staff is nasty and disrespectful.

The restaurant was clean for the most part. The calamari was very good and so was the chips and salsa. The chimichanga was good, I just don’t prefer mine drenched in a bunch of sauce. The only thing I would say, I didn’t like the sandwich because of the bread, The bread was tasting really cheap and tough and it ruined the sandwich for me and the chicken was seasoned really well, but it was not tender. It was tough. The Employee who served our table was very nice though. I would recommend this place just don’t get the spicy chicken sandwich.

We sat at the bar and Nayeli was the absolute best server. Polite, sweet, talked to us… quite the change from the normal servers. Definitely sit at the beautiful bar and ask for Nayeli.

Tequila Mama in Buford was an awesome experience, and a big reason why was our server, Arlyn. It’s hard to believe this is her first serving job and that she’s only been doing it for about three weeks, she was absolutely fantastic.
She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and checked on us just the right amount without being overbearing. You could tell she genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience, and she handled everything with confidence and professionalism well beyond her experience level.
The food and atmosphere were great, but Arlyn’s service really stood out and made the night memorable. Tequila Mama is lucky to have her, if this is how she’s doing after three weeks, she’s going to be incredible. Highly recommend stopping by and asking for her section if you can.

With all the hipe of how great this place was, I gave in to checking it out.
We decided to go upstairs because there were fewer people and we would be able to carry on a conversation. It didn’t take long to figure out that wasn’t going to happen, it was like being at a sporting event.
We reviewed the menu, there were a lot of good dishes to choose from. After 20 minutes of waiting for our server to come back, we asked the host if he could locate our waiter. He finally showed up and we placed our order. Since there weren’t any new parties arriving, we anticipated that our meal would come out shortly. Roughly 20 minutes later, our server told us that our meal will be out shortly; 10 minutes later it arrived.
As we figured, the meal was less than warm, but decided to eat anyway, to prevent additional delays and whatever mishaps might occur.
The food was good, but I’m sure it would have tasted better had it been delivered out hot. Usually shrimp and steak taste better when it’s hot, not just warm.
I’m willing to give them another shot. For if they were under staffed due to the flu season, this could have been the situation. Maybe the next time if will match the hipe that we were told about.
