I stopped by Tequila Limón in downtown Wheaton last Wednesday around 2:30 after work to meet up with one of my girlfriends for a late lunch, and it was such a great experience. The restaurant was calm and not busy at all, the vibes were amazing, and the atmosphere was beautiful and welcoming.
Manuel provided excellent service, he was professional, attentive, and genuinely kind, and made us feel taken care of the entire time. The chips were fresh and crisp, and the green salsa had great flavor without being too spicy. The food presentation felt upscale and well thought out, and you can really tell they care about quality.
I ordered the shrimp ceviche, which was served inside a real pineapple and topped with fresh avocado slices, and it was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, I would definitely recommend it. We also had the quesabirria tacos, and they did not disappoint, the consommé was served hot and fresh, the cheese was perfectly melted into the meat, and the tacos were juicy, tender, and rich in flavor with no excess fat.
Overall, I was very impressed with the service, presentation, and flavor of the food. We will absolutely be back for another girls’ date, thank you again Manuel for such a great experience.

Super nice decoration inside and food was phenomenal, we all cleared our plates! Have this nice free salsa with a great flavor to it, and drinks were tasty (strawberry margarita was delicious). Thought our waitress could have been a bit more attentive, but with all the newness anticipating with experience service would be quicker. My family and I hope to stop back in a few months!

Excellent food and drinks! We were notified ahead of time that the restaurant was short staffed and that food may take a little longer than anticipated which we were fine with since we were not in a rush. The wait staff was very friendly and prompt despite being understaffed. Water, chips, & salsa were consistently refilled as the staff came by to check on us. We had the guacamole, habanero wings, & quezabirrias beef birria tacos, all of which were delicious! I also had the margarita tequila Limón beverage which was great! Very nice decor and atmosphere as well! It was somewhat expensive based on the quantity of food but the quality & flavor make up for it!

We tried Tequila Limon early on a Friday night (5:30) so it wouldn’t be crowded and were very impressed! We started with strawberry margaritas and we think they were the best we’ve ever had. I know that sounds like an exaggeration but I’m a discerning reviewer and I don’t gush often. The flavor was a rich, ripe and sweet strawberry with sugar rimmed glasses and they were wonderful. We liked the ceviche appetizer but we thought the shrimp and vegetables were diced too small. The flavor was very good though. Gladys, our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We enjoyed their small chips and salsa before ordering. We liked the small size of the chips basket because we don’t like to spoil our appetites. The red salsa was very spicy and not chunky. We like chunky salsa so this is the one thing I believe they should change. We ordered the taco entree with both carne asada and Al pastor recipes. The Al Pastor tacos were very flavorful and delicious. The meat in the carne asada tasted bland so we spiced it up with their salsa. The tacos were good. I ordered the surf and turf fajitas and they were very good! The food portions were large for a high end Mexican restaurant and we loved bringing leftovers home for lunch the next day. My wife ordered a peach sangria and it was very good but maybe a little too sweet. Technology problems prevented Gladys from printing out our receipt so I took a picture of her digital screen and all was good. Our entire meal, including 3 cocktails and a 20% tip was $112. This is a great value for the quality and quantity of our food! The atmosphere is very nice too and we will return to try other dishes. I recommend Tequila Limon and encourage you to try it!

We went for a Saturday lunch. Guacamole Sopes, and soup. Chips are super crispy and hold up for the guac.

Love Tequila Limón! Thank you, Gladys, for making our evening so delightful and giving us such good menu selections! I had the Beef barria quesabirrias – sooo good. My husband had the Molcajete Killer. My daughter had fish tacos. We all loved every bite. Plus our margaritas were amazing – hats off to our mixologist who made them fresh.

Very pleased with this restaurant! Always love trying new places that pop up, and here was no exception.
The chips and salsa were fantastic, the ceviche was solid. And the shrimp tacos were substantial. Most ‘upscale’ Mexican restaurants I visit are similar in pricing for tacos but much smaller. These bad boys were heavy. I’m not one to get full off 3 tacos but here was different.
I highly recommend giving it a try!
