Shrimp noodles with zucchini is really amazing. The woman behind the counter was very formal and made my day with her hospitality and friendliness. 10/10 glad I came back

After hearing Teppanyaki hailed as a local favorite, we finally made our way in—and it turns out, the buzz is well-earned. This was one of the last few restaurants we had yet to try since moving to Elko, and it delivered a satisfying surprise.

The Food
I opted for the tofu and vegetables over noodles with their signature Teppanyaki sauce. The vegetables were cooked just right—tender with a bit of bite—and the tofu was impressively seasoned. My husband had the chicken entrée with rice and vegetables, both generous and flavorful. Each dish came with what they called “egg rolls,” though they were actually spring rolls—crispy, light, and a pleasant addition.

‍♀️ The Service
Service was prompt and friendly. Our server was attentive and kind, though we couldn’t catch her name—no name tag in sight. If management reads this, please pass along our thanks to the young woman working the evening shift on September 23rd —she made our visit smooth and welcoming.

Housekeeping Note
One small but important observation: the host/order taker/cashier/expeditor also handled bussing duties. While multitasking is commendable, we noticed the same towel was used to wipe the seats first, then the tabletops. For the sake of food safety and guest health, we’d like to gently flag this practice.

According to Sani-safe guidelines from Stericycle:
“Wiping seats with the same cloth used for a food preparation or dining surface can transfer germs like E. coli and Salmonella from the chair to the table.”
“Seats come into contact with clothing and hands, which can introduce bacteria and viruses that aren’t typically present on tabletops. Wiping them separately ensures that germs from the seats are not transferred to surfaces where food is served.”

We share this not as criticism, but as a community-minded reminder. Teppanyaki has earned its place among Elko’s favorites, and with a few tweaks, it can continue to shine even brighter.

It’s hard to get healthy, delicious food with fresh vegetables when stopping for a quick lunch on road trips and we’re so glad we found this place! We ordered the chicken and steak teppenyakis with fried rice. So delicious!! Next time though I would tell them how to cook my steak. I prefer it more undercooked. Would definitely come back!!

The food and customer service here is always awesome. The girl working the front does such a great job and is so polite. I decided to stay and eat even though I had takeout, she noticed and asked if I wanted a drink and got my cup. She went to put it on the card to make it easy but I paid cash. I still thought that was skillful and going way out of her way! A few other costumers came in and she remembers all their orders. I think she needs a raise!!! Goes out of her way to be kind and attentive, that is rare and hard to do/find in the service industry.

I highly recommend their combo plate. Steak, chicken, and shrimp! I usually do the combo with their noodles and some extras, there are other options as well. They are more of a casual atmosphere but they take the time to make your food well. The food takes a little longer than expected because it is made to order. I enjoy the sauce they have to put on the noodles and rice. An amazing addition to Elko’s food options!

After they catered the Wild and Scenic Film Festival and did not charge for it(maybe The California Trail Interpretative Center paid?) I wanted to try some other dishes they offer. I had the large order of Vegetables and Tofu with fried rice and noodles. The tofu tasted great. Lots of zucchini with carrots and celery, but only two little pieces of broccoli. And 2 tiny spring rolls came with it. I may be back to try the Kaulua Pork.

I have never had a loco moco with frozen pre-made beef patties served with what taste like canned gravy. Very disappointed took 2 bites and threw it away. Giving 2 stars because it’s hard to mess up spam musubi. (The musubi was good!!!)
I wouldn’t recommend the loco moco to anyone that has had a loco moco!!!

On a long road trip, I wanted real food with lots of veggies that was fast and for a reasonable price, and I got it! Will come here again whenever I drive through!

Awesome family owned restaurant! Great awesome people.
Update: I love their Tappanyaki noodles with chicken! I have come here 6 times now, every time I’m in Elko. Owners are awesome and the food is always great! I agree with the AI summary saying it is a generous portion for a reasonable price. I rarely have leftovers places, but it’s pretty common to have some leftovers there!
