There are so many delicious restaurants to choose from in Little Tokyo so it was hard to pick a sushi spot for us. We were glad that we found Tenno during our search! Seems like a popular spot with very friendly staff, awesome aesthetics with beautiful interior decor, and delicious sushi. We were there for a quick lunch so got an appetizer and two rolls to share. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was awesome. The crispy rice was softer and less crunchy that what I usually get and this was a good thing! Easy to bite into and worked so well with the spicy tuna on top. I highly recommend the Baked Salmon roll and the Bluefin Dream roll. The Bluefin Dream roll was different from what we usually get at sushi places so it was great to try. It was bluefin tuna on top of a shrimp tempura roll with daikon, crabstick, ooba, and cucumber with a ponzu sauce. Absolutely delicious!
Now for my standard comments. The location is clean and well kept. Comfortable indoor seating.

After trying so many sushi places, this is hands down the best I’ve ever had. Everything was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. The waiter was very friendly and welcoming. There was a long wait, but it was definitely worth it.
I highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again on my next trip to LA.

I absolutely enjoyed my first dine in at Tenno Sushi. A very popular place and especially full on a Saturday afternoon. The food was superb. I had the miso soup, avacodo roll, agedashi tofu and green tea. If you are not a meat eater you have these options plus the California roll and Veggie roll. The menu has a wide range of other items to choose from as well. Our service was excellent and we received our food very quickly. They seem to have a good operational system. Now, I am very sensory when it comes to food so it is hard to put into words the emotional comfort and happiness I felt consuming my meal. Just imagine having your watermelon with lime and sea salt for breakfast and then intermittent fasting for the day until about 4:20pm. Oh, my gawd today. That miso was so soul warming and the agedashi so mildly savory sweet. The green tea with a lemon wedge was very smooth and warm going down.
I tell you, I have had a lot of Japanese cuisine and Tenno Sushi is serving the most top quality food at economically traditional prices for Little Tokyo. I cannot recall the last time I paid 2.50 for miso soup say, um, 15 years ago? Oh, I will definitely be back for lunch hours.

Tenno Sushi is a gem amongst many other gems here in Little Tokyo. I don’t think there is a shortage of options for Japanese food in Little Tokyo, but it is precisely that intense and fierce market that keeps all of the restaurants competitive. I went with the beef yakisoba and my friend had the Vegas Roll. I also ordered some takoyaki to share. All 3 of the items were delicious, we left full, satisfied and happy with our choice. Service was fast and attentive too.

I really enjoyed this sushi restaurant! The portions were much bigger than I expected — really huge. I was completely full and couldn’t even finish everything. Everything was very tasty and fresh, the rolls were made with care. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and generosity, this place has become one of my favorites. I will definitely come back again and recommend it to my friends!

We had the strawberry soju and it was amazing. I highly recommend this place, and I definitely will be back!!! My favorite thing is fresh tasted.Great and the portions were large. I don’t know about the parking because I ubered there.

Decided to try this place because of the high and many ratings it received. We’re so glad we decided to do so! We got sat immediately even though place seems packed.
We ordered monkey bowl, umi sashimi combo, and captain america roll. Everything were made perfectly. Monkey bowl were huge in size, I had to bite it in half. Captain america roll was also generous in portion and roll size was humongous! The umi sashimi though… It tasted so fresh, it’s as if they literally just caught the fish, sliced it up and immediately plate it beautifully and got it to our table. These were truly amazing dishes! They were on the pricier side but it was worth it. I ended up not having any space left for any dessert!
Service was friendly, although at one point it was difficult to get their attention to refill our hot green tea. They didn’t rush us at all, unlike many other places (taking order, giving you the food, ask how’s everything, once they saw you’re on the last bite, here is your bill.) All in all, wonderful experience! Highly recommend this place for the sushi. Will come back to try their other dishes!
