We booked a dinner cruise for Valentine’s day. This was our first time doing a riverboat cruise & it met then exceeded every expectation we had! The food was better than we anticipated, the live entertainment was outstanding (and unexpected) and the view if Knoxville from the river is gorgeous! 100% recommend!

I love to take family and friends on this Dinner cruise whenever they come to visit Knoxville. I my opinion it is a must do whether you live in Knoxville or are just visiting. It is a fun and friendly atmosphere and the staff go out of their way to take care of you, and they are interesting to talk to! To date we have done this dinner cruise four times and we fully intend on going again in the future. This is truly a unique way to see Knoxville!

We took my mother for a dinner cruise for her 89th birthday. They made her feel special from the moment we checked in and she was greeted with a happy birthday and then had a card at her table. The meal was fantastic with plenty to eat. Once we finished we went to the upper deck and got to see scenes from the Tennessee River we had never seen before. The two hour tour was amazing and something my mom will never forget. Thank you Knoxville Star for your hospitality. We hope to do it again soon.

My daughter and I visited Knoxville and took a ride on The Star paddle wheel boat. It is a lovely, smooth ride down the Tennessee River. There is a lot of beautiful scenery to see. We didn’t eat on the ship but the food smelled great. Will definitely need to try next time. The snacks and drinks were reasonably priced. The boat is covered so you are not directly in the sun. All in for my daughter and I was $40 and it was worth the price.

Enjoyed our trip up the river. We only went on the sight seeing cruise which was enjoyable especially seeing all the sights from the Tennessee River. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Boat on the other hand could use tinder loving care.

Has it seen better days? Sure. Could it use a paint job and thorough cleaning? Probably. Did we enjoy our afternoon on the water? Yep!
Admittedly the boat has seen better days. Paint is chipped and the actual wheel on the back has cracked wood but that didn’t stop our little group of 5 from enjoying our sightseeing cruise. We didn’t eat on our cruise so I can’t speak for the food itself or the dining room. We left just before the scheduled time and set off. We passed Neyland Stadium and went under a few bridges and passed by some rock walls. You’re not going to see jaw dropping sights but if you’re looking to get out in the fresh air on the water, this may be a good option. We all enjoyed it, including our toddler. Nice to be together on a nice day on the river.
Two issue, one is the amount of tables and seats, some people had to sit out in the sun because there isn’t enough covered seating. Issue two is the speaker system. I feel like they were trying to tell us things as we cruised along but the boat itself was so loud we were never able to hear anything.
Overall it was a very nice day celebrating a birthday in our group. The staff was lovely and we really enjoyed our time on board.

My husband has wanted to ride a Riverboat for a while. This adventure was part of a trip I planned for our 35th Anniversary. We were not disappointed in the ride. I chose the Historical Tour thinking it would be a continuously narrated ride. That is not the case. It is clearly stated on the booking that the Historical tour is concurrent with the Lunch Tour. The music played nice and clear, however the narration was not as clear. It would be a plus if there was a pamphlet or something of that nature to help with the History of the area to go along with the narrative. Be aware that once the lunch is done, the crowd , or at least some of them will come up on the top deck, and it seems that smoking is allowed up there as one person was smoking. There are bathrooms aboard, and you are told where your life jackets are located. The Crew were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The upkeep/representation of the dock and boat could use some updates, but overall we enjoyed the ride.
