Little disappointed in this place the food really did not meet my expectations. The food was decent, nothing really to write home about.

My experience here was decent, but poor after the fact. My girlfriend and I went to dinner here for our anniversary and we were both happy with our different sushi roles. They were delicious. However after the fact, even though I did leave a tip to total to a even amount, I was charged more money after I left the establishment. Suggest using cash when coming here!

This place is AMAZING! Best sushi I have ever had. Qualtiy. Fresh and they don’t cheat you on the portion sizes. Also most authentic and best tasting Pad Thai I have had yet here in the states. Very friendly waitress and the sushi chef even made it a point to say goodbye. Awesome food, great customer service, my new favorite resturant in the area!

If I can give this a 0 star review I would. We went in with five different people and was we’re seated at the back. After 10 minutes a gentleman came over with five waters and asked us if we are ready to order in which we replied no. He states “a party of 20 just showed up so I’m gonna need to rush through this order if y’all can go ahead and decide what y’all want.” I ordered a glass of wine and we all ordered sushi. After another 15 minutes went by, I never received my glass of wine and two other people at the table wanted sweet tea. I walked to the front to realize there was not a party of 20 seated anywhere. I asked the other waitress if she could get the wine and the teas and she said yes. The gentleman brought over the wine which was room temperature (white is supposed to be chilled.) The wine had also been sitting out and has soured. He only brought one team. One of our guests ask if he could get another glass of tea and which the gentleman responded “absolutely,” then turned and mumbled under his breath “it’ll be another five minutes.” I got up to go to the restroom I noticed a dead roach lying in the corner beside our table. This was the final straw for our group and we got up and left. I will never return to this establishment. The blatant disrespect that the gentleman showed us by rushing through our order was absolutely ridiculous.

First off, I would like to say that our waitress was great: she was very nice and attentive. I noticed that the prices seemed very high on the entrees. The Hibachi chicken was $19 and the meals went up from there. The appetizers/sushi seemed in line with other restaurants that I have been to. I ordered a tuna and California Roll for about $10. My fiance ordered the steak and chicken Hibachi for $22. We both had water to drink. The Miso soup and ginger salad were on par, along with the sushi. But when the Hibachi meal came out, it did not look right. The fried rice was yellow and looked like it came from some store mix, having no flavor at all. The chicken and steak tasted like they were pan fried, and had no “Hibachi” taste to it whatsoever. We couldn’t taste any spices at all. The vegetables were a huge disappointment, as well. I expect zucchini and onions with my Hibachi, and what we got was 95% overcooked carrots, with some onions and three pieces of zucchini. The ginger sauce was good but the white or “yum yum” sauce tasted like a mix of mayonnaise and ketchup. The ambiance of the surroundings was nice, but the food was terrible, esp when compared to the fact we walked out of there paying $45 for a half eaten plate. We ended up going to a Japanese express, where we payed $13 for food that simply blew Ten-Ya away. I will never eat there again. Management and the cooks simply do not know how to make the dishes they are serving, and they are way overpriced. I would pay the same amount to go to a REAL Japanese steak house and be entertained at the same time. Steer clear of this place.

Horrible service, slow kitchen!
This is not a one time review. Time and time again I’m sitting there in normal restaurant conditions and I’ve been waiting for my food (sushi) for usually over 30 min after I ordered and it’s on even that busy! Wouldn’t be that bad if it didn’t take 10 minutes to be greeted by a server. Forget about drinks! The final straw which motivates me to leave this review is the fact that in a party of 11 they wouldn’t simply accept 7 cards split evenly! They wouldn’t let us leave unless it was all. On one card! Are you kidding me!? This is restaurant 101 stuff here.. Average to below average food and horrible service! Get sushi in Southern Pines (Red bowl) not Pinehurst!

So been here 3 times. I’ll start off by saying the food is pretty good. Service is terrible. The last time we were there it took 2 hours to get our food. The time before last was an hour and a half. Same excuse, there are a lot of sushi orders and that he makes him in the order received. Then why are the people who just walked in getting their food right away and your a sushi restaurant, your going to have a lot of sushi orders.
