Table service is almost none existent, for some! Not a huge buffet, salad and dessert bar, only minimum items! Several mains and Several sides, fried shrimp and fish was the best thing about my experience! Get some strange looks from staff when going back for 2nds on fish and shrimp! Drink slowly, cause you probably won’t get a refill unless you call them out! Probably will not try this place again!
2nd time here! Napkin dispenser empty, salt and pepper almost empty, no fried shrimp the whole time I was there, over cooked oven ribs with sause (not BBQ?),broccoli and cheese tastes spoiled, fried fish pieces much smaller than previously, runny banana pudding, on top of food quality diminishing they raised the price by 3 dollars! This place definitely will not get my business again! Outside sign shows 13.99 seniors, I paid over 19 plus a couple bucks tip! So disappointed with food,no service and price increase!

“Worst food I have ever had” if I could truly rate it, it would be 1/8 of a star. This is not Tex Mex food. The food was so awful. The open sign says they open at 11:00 am. We enter at 11:15 am. Meaning, we are being served their best food. Unfortunately not even close. The menudo had no flavor, not counting that the container which holds the menudo, was so low, it didn’t hardly have food in it. The chicken quesadillas had bone in it, I almost choked. The Mac and cheese was more like Mac and sneeze, power cheese…. No good. The tamales were hard, like if they were old, or frozen for a long time and God knows what kind of filling they had.
So then I try the pastry side… The banana pudding was so runny and tasteless.. for 3 people at $45.00, I can honestly say, it’s time to go back to formula.
My apologies, but we will not be returning. Best wishes.

I’m not sure what the other reviewer means. I’ve had almost everything on the buffet and it was all amazing hot and fresh. Ribs fall off the bone. Fish and shrimp hot and fresh.

This place has easily become my favorite place to come for lunch. I am taken care of with a smile every time I visit.
The food is plentiful with alot of options and you can tell it’s cooked with a love and passion you’d expect from a family owned buisness.

Not a horrible place the people were nice, and the workers all seemed nice. What got me was the food looked like it was sitting there for hours untouched the only thing that had really good flavor was the fish and shrimp. Everything was under seasoned to my taste. It was more than I would have expected when it came to the bill. I know everything is going up in price but $36 definitely seemed like a lot for 2 with what they had to offer. Plus everything was pretty much self served. So service almost seemed pointless unless you ordered water. Even then I didn’t get a refill and my drink was empty for about 20 minutes which wouldn’t have been a problem if it was busy but there was only 3 couples including me there. Or even if I could get my own water just like the sodas.

The food is in an authentic Tejano style with great presentation and freshly prepared per demand. I am very impressed that they have beef enchiladas in red sauce. Crispy shrimp with cocktail sauce. Fried catfish, barbecued chicken, fried onions, sauteed vegetables and grilled fish tacos with chipotle aolí.

A little disappointed with the variety of food and how much it costs. We decide to give them a try and I feel like it was a scam. The workers you’re very nice though. Only things really edible was the shrimp and a salad. I feel for 15$ a person there should have been more food to pick from.

I am only writing this to warn people to spend their hard earned money elsewhere in Alvin. We dined in this morning for the “breakfast buffet” at 10am. There was a little menudo left, barbacoa tacos, beef enchiladas, fried shrimp, fried fish, mashed potatoes, gravy, BBQ ribs, baked chicken. Not sure how it’s viewed as acceptable to serve lunch food in place of breakfast food during breakfast buffet times. The food was not bad flavor wise but I cannot understand having a “buffet” and not having a larger variety of food available for the guests. There were not sufficient breakfast items for being breakfast hours. There was one nice waitress but our actual server forgot to bring coffee, water, out of napkins, etc. Not one person asked how everything was or if we needed anything or I would have let them know.
Location is very outdated.

Not quality food. Very limited choices, high price for what they have to offer. Good attitudes, but that is just a component of a good restaurant, price and food quality are a most l at this place those 2 factors are none existent for the ones that know about real good tejano food
