Accusing my sister of having a fake and others when clearly other states are gonna have different IDs. She was literally just trying to go celebrate a friend’s birthday, in her almost 4 years at UCONN she’s never been here. She came and said the bouncer (male) immediately accused her of having a fake and told her to get out of “his line.” Who is he feeling like? Glad he ended up looking stupid when my sister had to go to lengths to prove to him she’s in fact 21. Do better.

The blonde bouncer was absolutely terrible. He yanked drinks out of our hands with no explanation. Tossed them in the trash before we could ask him why he took them away. Completely rude and unprofessional. The other bouncer was much nicer and is much more suited for the job. He knows how to talk to customers, unlike the blonde bouncer. Will not be returning.

On Saturday night, I was unfairly accused by a bouncer of giving my ID to another girl who supposedly looked identical to me and had gotten into the bar 30 minutes before I even arrived. In reality, I had absolutely no idea who he was talking about. I explained where I was driving from, showed my social media as he requested, and even offered to show my messages to prove I had no idea what he was talking about. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do about the fact that someone looked similar to me and how that is my fault? Despite me explaining the truth, he continued to accuse me and nearly refused to let me in. He even said “Take a picture of her next time.” I was so upset because it is absolutely unacceptable to accuse someone of something that never happened because of a false assumption.

What. The. Hell. Do people even care about serving quality food anymore? There was barely one slice of turkey on these grinders, and bagged sideways???? Pickle juice all over everything. Just close the doors if you don’t care to serve edible food.

I have been to Ted’s a few times, nice place, usually the bartenders have been friendly, for a dive bar. Their patio has been opened for smoking last summer, I was literally told it’s okay to smoke there last summer. Okay, so today I am having a smoke (my hand out the window), no one complained. Suddenly a dude from outside starts shouting at me how he is “going to kick me out” for smoking. All you needed to do was tell me that you don’t allow smoking in your patio. You don’t need to assault your customers in order to get your point across, sorry that you weren’t fit for the police academy but doesn’t mean you have to act like rent-a-cop. I was so taken aback, seriously, I haven’t been spoken like that in my life. Learn some manners guys. You are ruining the vibe.

Iconic staple of the UConn. campus- must visit! Consistently helpful and fun staff. I have been a patron of Ted’s for years and LOVE the spicy chicken cutlet wrap and the signature “beaver” drinks. I am always greeted for sit down service when the bar is not busy (there is not a wait staff and bartenders provide table service if atmosphere allows)

The nostalgia around this place is out of this world. Heard Sue Bird and Diana Turasi brag about it while watching the final four and I can see why. Owners are always working, staff is one of the best in business, food is always warm, and the beer is always cold. What more could you ask for!

* Side note * Been known to see a few celebrities sneaking around the bar from time to time.

Totally serviceable college bar. Floor and tables are sticky, mozz sticks were better than expected. It’s Ted’s! You get exactly what you are promised and that’s absolutely okay.

Let me start by saying I am visiting this town not a part of the college. If you are looking for a college environment then this is the place for you. I showed up on trivia night at the end. Wanted a drink with a pal and was recommended to go to Ted’s by the hotel we are at. We show up, obviously order the most basic stuff as where I coke from I just get whiskey and a beer. And then get rounds of that. Well I was served my shot of whiskey in a plastic jello cup that was so wide and short that you spilled half of the shot before you got it to your mouth then spilled more trying to get it in. On the second round I asked for glasses, one bartender was delightful and gave us glasses. Third round I bring the glasses up and a different bartender is there, I ask can u just put jack in these and she immediately ignores the glasses, grabs the short and wide jello shot pan plastic thing again and gives it to me in that. Not exactly the best experience for someone from out of town that wants a drink after driving 9 hours straight. Otherwise once trivia ended we were pretty much ushered out as not a lot of people were there anymore and the place closed. Could have easily enjoyed a few more rounds while there wasn’t a loud trivia game going on so its a shame they closed early on us.

Two stars because of a cool design but ended up going to one star because finding the correct “entrance” is absolutely the hardest thing. Nothing’s marked or labeled as the front and all the side doors seem to be emergency doors.
