We arrived at 10am on a Monday – and they were out of every flavor on single slice pies besides the chocolate haupia. We ordered cappuccino and iced coffee. For cake, we got the chocolate haupia slice and pineapple cheesecake slice. The haupia slice is world class – theres’s a reason it’s so popular and recommended item. Don’t sleep on the pineapple cheesecake too – the pineapple layer was so fresh! I would recommend it too. You may skip coffee here as it comes out of a machine. Besides these, they have a full menu for breakfast and lunch. There is plenty of parking and the restrooms are next to the parking lot. We drove from Waikiki all the way up north just for the haupia cake – and it’s worth it. We got one more slice for later!

Originally came because of the pies but the food turned out to be wonderful. We had the chocolate cream pie which was good but best to be shared with more people as it’s quite heavy (2-3 ppl sharing one is good)

For food we got Loco Moco, garlic shrimp and the ribs. The loco moco beef was great! Very good quality. The Garlic shrimp stole the show though, it was deshelled and peeled and tasted incredible. The ribs are the Korean sweet galbi style of ribs, which was a surprise but is food if you enjoy that, but don’t expect American BBQ ribs.

Another must stop on an Oahu circle island trip is Teds Bakery by Sunset Beach. They have an extensive food menu with great food but we already ate lunch so we got their famous pie slices. I got chocolate haupia (coconut flan) and my son got strawberry guava both were amazing! Another definitely recommend.

A must-stop on the North Shore! This hidden gem never disappoints. Whether it’s their famous chocolate haupia pie — rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced — or a hearty plate lunch before the beach, Ted’s delivers every time. Enjoy it at their casual outdoor seating for the full island vibe! ☀️

We went here twice. We had a better experience with service the first time as we got our food fast and the service was great. The second time we came in it was very busy and our food (2 items) took over a half hour to get. I honestly think they forgot our order or made a mistake because the people who ordered after us got their food first. Hoping it was a one off experience. The food was good both times. We got the breakfast croissant sandwich with ham and a BLT. Wished the BLT was on a regular bread like sourdough as opposed to a bun, but it was still good. I also got the chocolate pie (from the refrigerated section inside). The pie was my favorite!

Chocolate Macadamia pie and the pineapple cheesecake were 10/10. Not too sweet! You can really tell the ingredients are high quality, you can really taste the macadamia and fresh pineapple used

Service – 5 stars

Short ribs – 3.5 stars
Decent.

Garlic mahi mahi – 3.75 stars
Interesting – seemed like it was fried with an egg around it. Good flavour.

Chocolate haupia cream pie – 3.5 stars
Chocolate layer tasted like cup chocolate pudding. Bit sweet.

Strawberry guava cream pie – 3.5 stars
Too much cream for me. Guava flavour not very strong.

Pecan sticky bun – 3.5 stars
Bit hard on the outside but soft on the inside and not too sweet. Could’ve been warmed up a bit more.

Popular for a reason, some proper local baked goods. Great traditional breakfast options, too! Portuguese sausage breakfast sandwich was tasty and priced well. The filled malasadas are delicious. Better to go in the morning, was much busier around lunch time when I drove by again.

This bakery was in one of my favorite movies growing up, Blue Crush, so we had to check it out while visiting the pipeline and we ended up loving everything we ordered! Highly recommend stopping here to give their loco moco or desserts a try.

We’ve been coming here for 20 years and each time are happy we stopped. It does seem like the pies aren’t quite as good as they used to be but it’s still worth a stop if you are on the north shore. The meals are decent as well, but pie will always been the main reason to come.
