Very good grilled fish. Room for service improvement. Please be careful you need to pay for tap water: 5 dollars per bottle. The reason was that it was “purified”. My guide told me that we can drink tap water in all Costa rica safely without any purification except in the poas vulcano region close to san José.

I stopped here one evening for a snack. It was quiet when I was there and I enJoYed singing along to the classic rock being played! My server was really helpful in assisting me with dietary requirements. The kitchen prepared some homemade vegetable chips of plaintain, sweet potato and yuca instead of the bread, which were great.
I believe a mark of a good business is their ability to serve the different needs of their customers.
Thank you Guys!

I hardly like reviews like this, but I would hate for other people to waste a ridiculous amount of money as I did. STAY AWAY from this place if you know what halfway decent food tastes like. I have eaten at many restaurants across the globe, good and bad. I cannot think of a worse meal. The appetizers (fried fish with some kind of mango sauce, and hummus and “garlic bread”) were entirely flavorless. I’ve never had a warm piña colada but I had my first here.
My partner and I ordered a daily special, a filet mignon and grilled shrimp. We asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare. It was medium well. The shrimp was the worst i’ve ever had. Overcooked and definitely previously frozen, and worst of all had no seasoning WHATSOVER. Not even salt. In fact, one tasted like dish soap. The burger was no good either, and cost 13,000 colones ($26) WITHOUT FRIES (which taste like drinking sunflower oil), and the most measly strips of bacon I have ever seen. The cheese wasn’t even fully melted, and the bun was dry and crumbly.
Unfortunately, I had spend all day traveling so was quite literally starving. We do not like to waste food so we finished most of it and did not complain, and after eating 75% of it, my partner said the aftertaste was like when you drink way too much after a night out and end up regurgitating it back into the toilet. The service was good and our waitress was very nice, but I am in actual disbelief with how awful this food was. Maybe I would be less upset if the prices were in the same universe as the quality.

This is a pretty typical restaurant. Food took a long time and we didn’t get everything we ordered, however we were eating very late after arriving. Food was decent, but nothing stood out. They had live music, so the atmosphere was fun.

this is the type of food that when you taste all the flavors, you can’t help but smile and/ or do a happy dance. Everything I had here from the gazpacho to the tuna steak to the passion fruit & chocolate desserts were absolutely incredible. We literally couldn’t get enough and ate here back to back nights. The ingredients are sourced fresh and locally, and you can feel it! I am typically not one to leave a review, but I felt the need to share my tasteful experience here. The ambiance attracts regulars and is place of union over delicious food & drink. I highly recommend doing your taste buds and belly a flavor and seeing for yourself!

Overall, our experience was positive. We visited on a Monday afternoon in late October. The restaurant is very cozy and had live music on that night starting at 8pm. Although the restaurant had only a few guests, so most of the tables were empty. The service was friendly.
Food: We ate fish fingers, a fish burger and a grilled fish. The food quality was good, but not outstanding. Compared to other restaurants in Samara it seems in the upper range. Our two cocktails were ok, the Pina Colada was not my favourite. For food and two drinks + two cocktails we paid 80$ in total.
Resume: As the whole experience had some minor points to criticize and as the prices were rather high, I rate 4 stars.

blown away by every detail of this dining experience. phenomenal food! the burger was actually prepared exactly as I prefer, the guacamole was so fresh as were the homemade fresh plantain and potato chips that go with it. this place far exceeded my expectations for dining, and so appropriately priced, too. unique, delicious and refreshing cocktails. very good wine menu. kind and friendly staff.

Teca Beach is centrally located in Samara, away from the beach a couple hundred meters.
The location is easy to find on a dirt street, near the central futbol field. The environment is cozy although nights with music can be loud, making conversation difficult.
The service is relaxed and not rushed. The menu isn’t huge but has a good amount of choices. The wine and cocktail list was surprisingly complete. The food is fresh and well prepared. I was especially glad the whole sea bass was cooked perfectly, as were the accompanying vegetables.
We have visited Teca Beach many times over the last year and I assert that returning to a restaurant is the best recommendation I can give.
