Our first time here today with our family looking to try bubble tea for the first time. Even though we ended up not liking bubble tea the service was good. Pretty expensive, $27 for 4 teas. Cute, quaint restaurant. Full bar most dishes start at $15.

I really enjoy the food. We share 6 different dishes, and all of them have their own complex flavor: sweet and hot, sweet and salty, salty, citric… I also could eat their lime fish sauce as soup!

We had a pretty disappointing experience. To start, the prices are completely unreasonable for what you get and compared to other Thai places in the city. My husband ordered the Tom Yum soup. It’s priced at 12.95 with chicken but if you want to get it with prawns you have to pay $5 extra (their in-house menu said +$4 so it wasn’t updated with the online menu). That’s $18 for a Tom Yum soup, which came with I think 4 shrimps (not prawns) in a medium sized bowl. Most other Thai place in Spartanburg charged $7 to $10 for the same dish and in some cases includes both chicken and shrimp. One other place I found charged the same but $4 extra for prawns though I haven’t visited to comment on if it’s worth it. I ordered the pad thai dish. I wanted it with beef, but once again, for some reason it was a $4 or $5 upcharge to get it with beef instead of chicken, which would bring the dish price to about $18. However, they had a side dish of beef for $5 so we got that and the chicken pad thai. There were may be 5 decent sized chickens and the remaining were bits of one, barely anything additions (no parsley, carrots, and only 4 small pieces of green onion). The noodles themselves were tasty enough but it was a small portion for the price, especially in terms of the protein. The side of beef I didn’t really enjoy. It didn’t have enough seasoning or taste to it. I ordered a mango mojito and it was brought with NO LIME AND NO MINT and tasted nothing like a mojito. There was a big bunch of mint right on top of the bar so I asked for mint when she came by. She took a stem and placed it as a garnish instead of muddling it in like you’re supposed to in a mojito. So I tried to push it in there and muddle it myself and then realized that lime was missing. At this point, I just asked for a lime wedge. There were may be 2 other tables being served in the restaurant so it wasn’t like it was so busy that she couldn’t pay attention to this. My husband’s drink was supposed to be a smoked rosemary old fashioned. There was no rosemary in it so he asked about that and the waitress showed him a syrup they used. It was so mild that he barely tasted it, even when they added more to the drink. But if you’re gonna have it in the name and charge real cocktail prices, it would be nice to actually torch a rosemary stem and put one in there. I think I might have also seen some sort of $2 processing fee on the bill but I can’t remember now. Either way, it felt like they were trying to squeeze every dollar out of you and give the least amount possible in return. It turned out to be a fairly expensive meal for what we got and the value/quality especially since the drinks were such a bust. I had high hopes for this place because of the other positive reviews and because the place itself looks clean and nice, but we had a very different experience. It turned out to be the most expensive Thai place we’ve been to so far, not even located in central downtown Spartanburg location, with subpar service and portions.
