I tried the famous mandarin crispy tofu. It was very sweet! Not spicy at all. Pretty thick sweet n sour like sauce. There wasn’t much tofu – the breading on the tofu and sauce was the majority of the meal. Too heavy for me. My partner had the Almond tofu dish – I had a “buscuits n gravy” vibe to it. We didn’t love either dish, but the menu had a lot more that we didn’t try, so maybe what is popular just wasn’t for us. The complimentary pre-meal soup was good. Salty, but thinner (which I like).
They have tofu vegan cheesecake I’d like to try next time, if we return.

The ambiance and service was good but the food was just okay. We tried the potstickers, mandarin crispy tofu (good sweet bbq sauce), vegetable fried rice and laksa.

The fried rice was good. The laksa was very disappointing, lacked flavor and spice. The noodle was too much with very little amount of broth.

Oh Thai iced tea was nice.

Amazing vegetarian restaurant! The owner personally attends to you with so much patience and kindness, and they offer an amazing variety of teas. The food is fresh, delicious, and made with care. Truly a peaceful and welcoming place. Highly recommended!

We had Almond Tofu for lunch and this was below average. Around 5-6 big tofu fried with almond sauce. We also felt some kind of taste which was not great after every bite. I would not recommend this dish and this restaurant. Price was way higher and not worth

Got food poisoning after eating here this afternoon, after not eating out at all over the Thanksgiving break (so it can’t have been any other place/food). I think it was the tofu in the Pad Thai that did me in. It tasted odd, like a slight aftertaste of dish soap? My husband also noticed the same. The hot and sour soup was good, but overall disappointed. We’re vegetarians and were hoping to be able to frequent this place, but that’s unlikely now.

I ordered takeout from Teapot Vegetarian House for the first time last night and loved it! We got the mandarin fritters, fried rice, dumplings, and cheesecake. The owner (I’m assuming) was very nice when we picked up our order and gave us a free container of soup! I’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely Love this place! We went yesterday 12/4/25 ( 3 of us). Been a long time customer.
We ordered food to take home as well as dine-in.
Ordered:
Laksa, veggie noodles, Kung Pao,lotus root appetizer, and Mandarin Crispy Tofu. Also enjoyed cheesecake and mango tea. Everything was top notch!
I can’t believe some of the very rude reviews on here. I have Never had any problems here in over 20 years (also a capital hill customer when it was open). Never any “damp” smells in there and not sure why someone has to take time out of there day to let everyone know they laughed all the way to Trader Joe’s after dining here. And making fun of the decor. If someone has a problem with their food…you tell the server/owner instead of blasting them on here.
The space Teapot is in has undergone alot of changes recently in the suppounding strip mall. It’s in the process of changing the types of business there. Most sm businesses have moved and I think there are delays in what’s planned for that strip mall. Please be kind to this business that is still there to serve us and I am so grateful to come over from Mukilteo as often as we can to support this business.

This is exactly what my wife and I needed in our lives.

I’ve actually been hunting for some vegan orange chicken in Seattle and finally found some! They just need to make it a tiny bit spicier but it was very good.

Sweet and sour soup is not something I normally like, but this was absolutely delicious.

Not the cleanest place, it had a bit of an old carpet smell and the chairs were a bit dirty. If you know, you know. This was a good sign.

We will certainly be coming back to support this lovely spot.

Plus there’s a goodwill across the street.

Teapot Vegetarian is a family run Chinese vegan friendly restaurant. All of their food is plant-based and incorporates mock meats and sauces many people will be familiar with if they grew up in the States.

Everything is designed to be shared family style and portions are pretty good here too.

The Laksa was our standout dish. Everyone comes here for it and I could see why – the creamy coconut milk curry broth with noodles and veggies/tofu was spectacular and a must. We also enjoyed the Corn Chowder as that really reminded me of home.

Claypot Veggies were way too salty sadly and without the included rice, it felt like something was off. I should probably stop ordering claypot dishes at veggie restaurants as they tend to be very saucy without much else.

Service here was very friendly and they took great care of us. It’s a relaxed environment and one I’d return to again.

While I don’t mind waiting for food when I know it is a small operation, and the staff are quite kind, the food could use seasoning. I love the options, the creativity, and the commitment to vegetarian/vegan cuisine but the gravy for the almond fritters isn’t even salted and that’s coming from someone who is sensitive to salt.

If the flavors on any dish were punchier, I would make the trip to this place more often and feel like the price was worth it.
