We sat down the lady took our order, these two men next to us got there 15 mins later and within 20 mins they got their food. after 40 mins we asked about our food and the waitress clearly lied saying that the cooks “messed something up so they are remaking it” even tho both waitress passed by us twice within those 40 mins and they checked on us and didnt say a word regarding this, so i know they were lying it was very obvious they forgot to put our order in. After another 15 mins we finally get our food and my burger was pink even though i had asked for it well done. When i originally asked for itwell done she told us “oh the smash patties already come cooked because their smashed” yet when we confronted her about my pink burger she told us “oh those burgers come medium well”. We again reminded her that i asked for it well done. We were told we were going to “get a discount” the discount they claimed was about $1-$2. My burger was 90% sauce to the point it kept slipping out of my hands and it turned my burger into ground beef.
To top it off there was a dog next to us that was not a service animal and i continued to see dog fur fly around. Disgusting.
I have never in my life had to give a ZERO tip, yet this was 100% justified.
The absolute worse service.
They also have tacos, Mac bowls, and other types of entrees of you’re not in the mood for a burger. They also have a good selection of craft beers on draft and can.
The vibes are chill and the staff are always attentive and friendly. There’s always a crowd when I’ve gone to Teak so it usually does take a bit to get food to the table, but that’s honestly never bothered me because it’s always a fun hang.
Love ya, Teak.
We ordered wings and two burgers. I had the Americano: double smash patties, ham, pulled pork, sriracha mayo, Swiss cheese, mustard and pickles on a toasted ciabatta bun.
The order came and both burgers did not come with a couple of the modifications we asked for. When I found the burger had pickles, I asked for the bartender to correct it, to which he responded, “i didnt take the order but I can go check.” I just thought that was a little silly because.. we were aware. We didn’t blame him for anything, we just asked for it to be fixed.
When the burgers came back, it was clear that they just removed the tomatoes from my boyfriend’s burger, and removed the pickles from mine. I could see the slimy residue from the pickles and taste the pickle juice on the bun. They also stuck the plate in the microwave. I felt like this was deceiving, and opened the burger to show the bartender. He took it off the bill and apologized, but I ended up not wanting to order anything else. Now, about the tomato, just removing the tomato from the other burger wouldnt have been as bad, but the bartender stuck his thumb in the food on the plate as he lifted it off the table.
The bartender tried to rectify the issue, but at that point, I was nervous that any further complaint would have not had a favorable outcome–I would never return food twice to a kitchen that tried to deceive me. I do want to give gratitude to the bartender, as he let me sample a whisky I had inquired about earlier in the evening. I definitely liked it.
I did enjoy the wings and the drinks and will give it another try some other time far in the future.
We ordered the pan fried mussels to start.
In the past they came in a chunky tomato and garlic sauce, full of flavor perfect pair to the bread but this time they were brought in something that look more like colored water. For entrees, My husband ordered a burger and only took a bite or two, have never seen him so disappointed on food to the point of not eating anymore he said the meat wasn’t seasoned, bland, no flavor… The complete opposite of our experiences a year prior. My chicken pesto flat bread looked and tasted like gas station food. When we asked our server what changed she mentioned it could be different food providers or a different cook.
Our impression was that whoever is in charge doesn’t care for the quality anymore and seeing similar experiences on the reviews from the past few months confirmed that theory.
The only reason I took the time to write this review is because we’re hoping it’ll bring some improvements and the possibility of the awesome flavorful food they had in the past. We’ll try again in a year and hopefully can update this review into a 5 star one.
However, once a staff member attended to us, they were incredibly friendly and thorough, promptly cleaning our table. They were also knowledgeable about the menu and offered thoughtful suggestions to accommodate dietary restrictions for one member of our party. The food was good—flavorful and satisfying.
Despite the initial hiccup, we appreciated the staff’s efforts and the quality of the meal. We’re optimistic about returning and hope for an even smoother experience next time.
Gordon Ramsey burger is hands down the best I have ever had. …before that it was Teak. Not comparing because…it’s Gordon Ramsey but boy could they be on their way up. Just. …hold the garlic on those scalloped potatoes omg
