Teaism is an asian-inspired restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. We cook from scratch with fresh, healthy ingredients. There are lots of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options on our menu. Teaism is a great place to meet a friend but also a welcoming environment for people dining alone. We love to cater breakfast and lunch for close-by offices. Our menu features close to 50 different teas and herbal infusions and we make one of the best boba teas in DC.

I stumbled across this place. Its in a nice neighborhood. Its super cute and authentic. They have a lot of variety of teas, pastries, and hot food which looked delicious. I decided to get a black Boba tea and the vegan ginger scones. They were baked fresh straight out of the oven and very amazing! I have had an obsession with scones lately. I thoroughly enjoyed them with the jam! My iced Boba was fine, not too sweet at all. I would definitely come back. They played smooth jazz the whole time! This place is such a vibe. It feels very cultural and authentic and very relaxing.

Such a gem of a spot. Love how cozy the upstairs area is. The croissant I got around lunch was sort of stale, maybe pastries are better in the morning. The ginger limeade was so so good though! A refreshing drink for when it’s hot outside.

We had Jasmine Pearl Tea here and it was excellent! My daughter got Boba tea and we also had Ginger scones. Everything was delicious! We got a table upstairs and had a nice view of Dupont.

This was a unique restaurant we found by accident whilst exploring embassy row in downtown D.C. It was awesome. It had a great selection of teas (as its name suggests) and a fantastic menu of Japanese inspired cuisine. The energy was also great and the staff were friendly and accommodating. My partner and I liked it so much after our first visit that we went back the next day for dinner. This was a great find, and I 100% recommend you visit it if ever in D.C.

I popped in to see if this location has a looseleaf tea I was unable to buy from one of its sister locations several weeks back. This location was also ‘sold out’ although the box was on the shelf behind the counter …. bummer. I came away empty-handed for one thing, but I ended up buying Hibiscus Berry Tea to go. I left it unsweetened because it will be sweetened by the Chocolate Chip Nut cookies (from another place) I am nibbling on. I did notice this location has their looseleaf tea and merchandise for sale in the same common area as its restaurant — it has a narrower ordering area — and is something to keep in mind if you arrive during the busy time of the day.

This restaurant offers diverse cuisine, including Korean, Japanese, Indian, and Thai foods. All were great! I saw someone complained that salmon had no flavor. You should dip it in brown sauce together with kale under salmon.

The rice for the thai curry was dry and the curry was a bit too salty for me. The soup part of the udon was not flavorful.

I com here often for lunch with my partner and we love it! We are vegetarians and usually order the black bean bento box and the veggie okonomiyaki. It’s so full of flavor and plenty of food for two! We always wonder if we should try other things because all the other food we see in the other tables always look great, but we like these two too much to change, maybe next time! The teas are also great!

Teaism is a well-known teahouse brand with four shops in Washington, DC. I prefer the one in Dupont Circle because it has a cozy and homely feel, especially the upstairs dining area with windows overlooking the street. The place has an Asian-inspired decor and offers quality teas, all-day breakfast, bento boxes, light Japanese and Thai-style meals, and some snacks such as cookies and Asian-inspired desserts like matcha gelato, jasmine creme brulee, and mochi.
We ordered salmon and Korean Beef Brisket bento sets, which tasted amazing. The salads that came with them added crunchiness to the food. The mochi had the expected texture and taste. It’s a self-service establishment, so there is little to discuss about the service.

Was gifted the Matcha Sweet Green Tea, Rosy Cacao Rooibos, and Steeping Mushroom Chai from this location — all three were beyond expectations, especially the Steeping Mushroom Chai (easily my new fav) which is perfectly balanced between peppery/floral.
I love that I can add the Matcha Sweet Green Tea directly to some steamed milk and have a perfect matcha latte with zero effort. You can really taste that they’re honest about having no artificial sweeteners or oils, which is huge as someone with those sensitivities.
Huge thanks to the manager Lela, who acknowledged a small mix up in the order and had the resolution in the mail the same day. I couldn’t have asked for better customer service, and will definitely be a repeat customer.
