anyways, the main disappointment – food. I always give the benefit of the doubt but there was just no saving this place. My mom, husband and me were all so disappointed, I had to apologized for choosing to eat here for dinner.
the food for one is absolutely NOT authentic. The soup will NOT taste the way you are expecting. The meat had absolutely ZERO flavor. i asked for extra meat on the side, i got four slabs of meat that for some odd reason looked so fake. I put it in my broth, and my broth was not hot but warm, so my meat did not cook like it typically would.
Bean sprouts? They gave the tiniest amount and it looked expired. so did the 2 jalapeños. so did the one piece of mint. litterally like they were about to run out of toppings. i kid you not I lost my appetite throughout this entire experience.
I also paid for extra limes, i guess they do not give limes in general? because what do you mean I got a total of like 4 lime slices? AND THEY WERE SO DRY
AND PLEASE – you will leave smelling like a restaurant.
hard pass and am so shocked this place is in business. here we are leaving dinner, going out for dinner again; because the meal was meant for kids. yes, my entire party is still disappointed & hungry.
Showed up at 7:30 p.m. with two hungry kids. And was told it would only be take out because they close at 8:00? I get that you want to go home, but we’re talking pouring a couple bowls of Pho.
We order 2 Pho to go. Quick turnaround less than 7 minutes. I asked for some chili sauce, and they told me they have to charge me! Which I can honestly say I have never been asked to pay for chili sauce at any Vietnamese restaurant anywhere, ever. So you’re already charging me $14 per Pho, and now you want to charge me for chili sauce that is for free on the table but because you won’t let me sit to eat, I have to pay for it?
I could let go of the poor service and the nickel and diming if the food was good. But honestly the broth was subpar at best for me, quite bland. My son did enjoy it, so not a total loss. I will likely just go back to Saigon bistro or Viet bites for my north side Vietnamese fix.
Hope you guys can improve, it would be nice to have better Vietnamese food in that area.
Pros: I liked that they gave me the lime juice in the plate in addition to limes. I always have to ask for extra limes at other restaurants. Meat is very good. It feels like they simplified the menu which I like.
Cons: Soup is not very hot when it comes out and does not taste as flavorful. Feels like they are doing the bare minimum for the cost. Not much meat is given for each bowl.
If you’ve had Vietnamese food in any other city, don’t bother going here. You’ll just be frustrated that you spent your money on lame food.
Unfortunately their new hires don’t care for this family owned business as they should. Speaking to their latest poor review the staff isn’t accommodating for those that try to call or come in to order anytime between 7:30-8pm.
If in person they seem bitter before close and good luck calling… they let it ring and don’t answer.
I’m leaving 5 stars because I care for the owners and want them to be aware of what’s happening. I encourage others to come back as their latest experience is not the standard.
Get the egg rolls, get the pho (vegetarian pho and beef pho , both were ) and absolutely recommend the grilled pork spring rolls are amazing
Ask for the matcha with orange juice!
