The food was delicious, friendly service and beautiful atmosphere. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and they had a cute little candle holder to keep the tea pot warm. Food was served fairly quickly and we couldn’t finish it! The teas we chose were phenomenal, my daughter got the Paris one and I got a butterscotch one. Recommend this place 100%

The tea here was really good, and the scone was warm, tasty, not too sweet, and not dry — so the food quality was really nice. Unfortunately, the service experience overshadowed it. Our waitress had a dismissive attitude and basic hospitality was missing. We had to ask for utensils, napkins, and plates because nothing was provided unless we requested them.

My friend’s tea cup also had a lipstick mark and the cup was chipped. When we asked for a replacement, it was just switched out with no apology or acknowledgment. When I ordered another scone later, it was again brought with no utensils.

What made the situation even more noticeable is that the male waiter — who wasn’t even assigned to our table — was the one who greeted us warmly and helped explain the tea options, while our actual waitress barely engaged with us.

As hijabi women, we honestly couldn’t help but wonder if that had anything to do with the difference in attitude. I hope that’s not the case, but the contrast was uncomfortable. Overall, great tea and good food, but the service really needs improvement.

One of a kind and unique with tradition.

The tea also is always so smooth and perfect.

Food is unbeatable.

Sure the other places like this are good but this is a staple here in SCV.

Had an amazing experience here with my wife and sisters. The food was incredible, from the beautifully presented tea tower to the perfectly made eggs Benedict. Service was excellent, and everything arrived promptly. Zac was our server and he made us laugh and took great care of us! Can’t wait to come back!

A great little pearl hidden away from the busy streets, offering a wonderful piece of peace and serenity, with a cozy garden and cute finger foods.
We enjoyed their beautiful decorated afternoon tea plate, a great selection of sandwiches you choose between, together with different scones and cakes. Making it a tower of deliciousness together with amazing tea flavors.
The staff is great at pampering you, making sure you are enjoying your time to the fullest.
If you are in the mood to spoil yourself, definitely come by and give them a try, I know for sure we will be back soon again.

Not exaggerating, this may be the worst restaurant I’ve been to in recent years. Was initially impressed with their wide selection of teas, but was immediately thrown off by the pricing. When the tea finally arrived, it was lukewarm AT BEST and noticeably under steeped. If the prices reflected a fun and creative “Victorian” atmosphere, I would be more understanding… BUT THIS WAS FAR FROM THAT. Our teacups were not the fun, cute china set one might imagine, but rather plain, sad, boring vessels for the depressing dishwater they held. After long deliberation, I decided to split the $17 BLT with a friend—a futile attempt at redemption. After no less than an eternity, we were finally served our meal…ON A PLASTIC, SCRATCHED, DISCOLORED, TARGET PLATE. If that weren’t tragic enough, the sandwich was comparable to the prepackaged, discounted abominations one might find on the final sale shelf at the gas station. The chalky bread was so dry I couldn’t help but check for mold, and the obviously bottled ranch was goopy and blobulent. Finally, our server announcing “we’re too young to know what we want anyway,” ringing up our orders overpriced, and calling me “the problem” for being unsure about which tea to succumb my self respect to, was truly the cherry on top of this heap of despair. I write this with the deepest regret, as I was truly elated to indulge in some tea party fun. Instead, I’m leaving wishing I had saved myself the time and dollar. A wonderful idea—pitiful execution.
P.S. We saw a rat.

We just had a Victorian Tea Party for my little girl’s birthday.. Initially there were Mix-Ups and we weren’t seated for 20 min at our special table. That’s why I’m giving it 4 stars.

Overall the food was wonderful and delicious. The Tea’s where amazing! We tried chocolate and lavender rose. The scones where out of this world with Russian sweet cream. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating, thank you Mandy. The atmosphere was welcoming and warm. We really enjoyed our time and had enough food to take home extras. They even brought to-go cups for our extra tea.

I would come here again! It made our birthday girl feel very special.

Disappointing experience at Tea Elle C Garden Cafe. The tea was good, but that’s about it. Food was stale (sandwich breads too), and the scone was the only standout. Service was way below par, felt like we were an inconvenience from the moment we walked in. Female server was unfriendly and unwelcoming, gave zero smiles or warm vibes. Had to ask for everything (utensils, plates, napkins)… other guests seemed to get it all automatically. Chipped cup with lipstick mark? Told her, and she gave attitude instead of apologizing. Grabbed a mismatched cup, no saucer . Felt disrespected, especially as hijabi women. Won’t be back, and warning friends in the area.

Great breakfast but my favorite is lunch. Sometimes there is a little wait to be seated. Overall great service from the staff. It’s a smaller place, but they have great outdoor seating if you go on a nice day. You must try the house favorite (and mine) Coconut Cocoa black tea and any of the salads with the “Meme’s Dressing” is delicious. The scones are good, not amazing, butterscotch and chocolate chip are my favorites. I can’t get enough of the cucumber finger sandwiches too. It’s always a treat when I can come and eat here. I should also add that you can buy any of their loose leaf teas to take home and you can come ask for a cup of hot or iced tea for take out.
Ask what their soup of the day if you are in the mood. I had an amazing Red Pepper Gouda soup that was to die for!
