First time trying TCS. Friendly staff and decent prices. Home made chips with the sandwiches. We ordered the Shrimp Poboy grilled and a Reuben. Both were great. The bread on the Poboy was amazing. Give the crawfish queso a try.

Best place to eat in Center for affordability and taste! Love the catfish, chicken fried steak and homemade tartar sauce! The cakes are yummy too. A part of our order was not so great though. The sandwich had two brown tomato ends on it. That’s not something you use when making a sandwich first of all, and secondly they are a bit brown which is so nasty. Overall though it’s great most of the time!

My dad and I ate here Saturday 5-10-25 for lunch. My dad ordered the bistro burger and I ordered the French dip. The burger My dad said was the best burger he’s ever had and he’s almost 80 so that’s saying something. The French dip au jus was so flavorful and the beef was seasoned to perfection on the sandwich. The Swiss cheese had a very good flavor. The sandwich came with homemade potato chips and they were seasoned and tasted excellent. The entire experience including the staff was amazing. If you’re in Center or near the area I would whole heartedly try this place. You won’t be disappointed.

Food was perfectly delicious, perfectly prepared, and reasonably priced. No waiting to be seated and service was reasonably quick. Great place to eat.

This is a strong choice if you are in Center, TX. Restaurant Choices here are extremely limited if you don’t want Mexican cuisine or fast food.

First, the service here is top notch. Just what you expect when dining in a small town. Everyone is friendly and eager to chat or offer suggestions. I ordered the fried catfish plate (there is an AUCE option on Wednesday and Friday). And I ordered fried green tomatoes. Both were served too hot to eat when they arrived to my table. The green tomatoes were in a corn meal and were delicious. The catfish was also breaded and fried and is the best in Center. Period. The fried seafood here is the best in town. I’ve tried them all.

There is a small bar and they’re are margarita specials and bottled beer selections also. The place was busy throughout the night with multiple tables seated and leaving while I was there.

They offer some oyster dishes that are sourced fresh from the gulf. They were out of oysters when I was there, but will try them again when they get another delivery due to the excellent catfish and tomato dishes.

The building and the interior decoration provides a friendly, inviting environment. The staff are friendly and welcoming and moderately attentive. However, it took 26 minutes to get a Bistro burger after asking the waitress to check on it. The fries were cold and the burger was slightly overcooked, though the flavor was good. In a super busy restaurant, this wouldn’t be an issue, but there were only two other tables with customers and they already had their food and only one drive through customer the hour I was there. They had at least 6 people on staff and one man standing in the kitchen talking the entire time I was there. There were a lot of flies in the restaurant which bothers me.

Ate here with friends. We were in town twice for two nights. We ate here the second night of the first trip. We ste here both nights of the second trip. A wide variety of food on the menu, including extensive gluten-free and vegetarian options.

We can vouch for the burgers, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, ribeye steak and the pork ribeye steak. Great desserts. Cocktails, beer and wine.

My husband, David, and I ate a late lunch at TCS Bistro, on a rainy afternoon in April. I ordered cheese curds and marinara sauce, for the table. The cheese curds arrived hot, fresh and delicious but more akin to hand-breaded cheese sticks than cheese curds. Recommended for cheese lovers anyway, as they are outstanding and perfectly fried! The Red Gold Marinara Sauce is on the sweet side but good. I tried to order a French dip minus onions for my husband, and it was awkward. Our waitress was nice enough, but she said she’d have to charge extra for a roast beef sandwich with au jus, (which is simply a French dip minus the onions with Cheddar cheese instead of Swiss cheese) and didn’t know the upcharge so she’d have to ask her manager. I ordered David the French dip minus onions, which is what he wanted originally. The roast beef wasn’t the best – some gristle but not much gristle. David wouldn’t order it again. He exchanged the bagged potato chips, at the table when his order was delivered, for a $1.50 upgrade to fries. We aren’t normally “those” customers who exchange at the table, but the fries were definitely the side to order instead of the chips. The fries were yummy, hot and fresh! I ordered lunch chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and gravy and a side salad without onions with Champagne vinaigrette. The white gravy was delicious, as were the hand-breaded tenders and homemade mashed potatoes! The side salad was perfect – fresh crisp mixed greens, tiny tomatoes, crunchy croutons and a sprinkling of shredded cheese! The Champagne vinaigrette had a pleasant bite that wasn’t sweet. The iced tea and Coke we ordered were both strong and refreshing. The single restroom was clean and stocked. Recommended, as one of the best restaurants in Center, Texas!

Anyone giving this less than 5 stars is lying. The only thing better than the food was the customer service. You only see places like this in big cities. Very out of place in Center, TX – in a good way! Food/Service/Atmosphere – all top notch. Wish I could give them 10 stars.
