Nice atmosphere, blues music was nice. Staff were pleasant and polite. As far as the meats go, the chicken was good, ribs were ok but the pork and wings were bland and dry. We used all the sauce cups and had to use the table sauce too. I think if I had been at home and had time to let it sit it would have helped more. We both had the same sides since they were out of things. I enjoyed the baked beans but they were pretty basic but the mac and cheese left something to be desired.
I had really been looking forward to visiting and was let down. A good staff can only do so much with bland meat that requires tons of sauce for both moisture and flavor.

I was on a mission to find Alabama white BBQ sauce, and guess what? I stumbled upon Tay’s! I had passed by this building several times before finally spotting the sign on the corner. I decided to treat myself to a two-meat plate with coleslaw and potato salad. The potato salad was a standout – it was made with red potatoes and still had the skin on, making it extra tasty. The low tide coleslaw was also delicious. I opted for the ribs and chicken, and both were fantastic. I was really hoping to try some smoked boudin, but unfortunately, they were out of stock.

Local BBQ chain that reminds me of other joints from different locals. At least this one isn’t the standing room only, better get there before X time otherwise you’re SOL and leaving hungry. If you’ve ever been to a Sonny’s they’re somewhat similar, but smaller and feared more for togo although they do have dine in. I wonder if this is a Dreamland situation where anything not from the original location is subpar because I hear others talk about them. Regardless the sausage is really good as is the chicken. I haven’t had the pork or ribs yet, I’m working myself up to that I guess. Can’t discern a regional style although they have Alabama white sauce so there is that. Their BBQ sauce isn’t overly sweet and has a decent spice. The chicken is well seasoned and juicy, but mildly smokey IMO. Pulled chicken always tends to be a little dry no matter where you get it, but not a detriment here. I’ve only had the mac and the grits, which are also both rich creamy and cheesy. It’s a hot bar setup so depending, things may not be the freshest. They have beer and other cold things in a cooler to the side, plus merch.

Well worth the drive!!! Not being familiar with too much of Mississippi we took a chance and tried this place and WOW WOW WOW! I can’t say enough about this place from the service to the food to the real home made banana pudding!! Even the Cole slaw and I’m super picky about that. We will not only make the drive next time we’re craving BBQ but we’ll be telling everyone we know just how good it was

Been wanting to try this place for a few years. Finally was over this way and wanted to get a bite to eat and they were open. Unfortunately they were out of the 3 cheese fries which I was looking forward to. So I got a pulled chicken sandwich and some ribs. The pulled chicken sandwich was OK. I liked it with the white sauce a little better than the traditional bbq sauce. The ribs were really good overall. Good smokey bbq flavor and just tender enough where they came off the bone very easily. Would like to try the grits and wings next time.

Tays is conveniently located less than 5 minutes from home. My most recent visit was to order a smoked turkey for Thanksgiving. They are so good! We also order a smoked ham for Christmas.

Ordered wings, sides, and spicy legs. I’d expect wings from a bbq place to be smoked… they were not. The spicy legs taste like Buffalo wings, but were tough and dry. The potato salad was less than appealing, and the 3 cheese grits were just ok. Can’t say I’d ever go here again. Definitely not pit smoked bbq.

This is supposed to be brisket, it’s shredded VERY DRY and has no seasoning on it. The shredded pork has a little moisture to it but is bland, the mac and cheese taste like a box. Very very very disappointed and will absolutely never order here again, my 4 year old niece can make better food than this!
