I stopped by to give Taxman’s beers a try, and I was impressed. The place looks very nice and stylish, and the staff were quite professional and personable. I was able to order my flight of beers quickly, and it wasn’t too long before I could enjoy them. I mostly stuck with the Belgian styles of beer they seem to be known for, and they were all excellent. The Belgian dubbel, Deduction, stood out to me as one of the better renditions of that type I’ve ever had. I didn’t try any, but the food looked great, too. This is definitely a spot I’d come back to.

Rehearsal dinner in the Parliament room was a wonderful venue. Ashley, their private events coordinator, is AMAZING with all things needed for coordinating the events. We also, following the rehearsal dinner upstairs, hosted a wedding Welcome party for over 100 people in the main dining room. Food, light bites, our live musician, selfie station made the party so much fun for the bride and groom. Such a beautiful and cool vibe for “The Night Before” the wedding. Many thanks to the professionalism of the staff/servers to make all our guests feel so welcomed. Great memories!

Stopped in for food and drinks before the Colts game. The service was fantastic. They offer a brunch menu with great options at a reasonable price. Nice size bar area and large out door dining area as well. Ok not Taxman beer available, but a great selection of really good craft beers. Great spot to go before Colts games or anytime really. I highly recommend.

Nice place that I recently visited. Nice selection of beers and things to drink. Nice selection of food.
We started with a pretty large tasty pretzel with our beers.
Then we moved to dinner. I tried their Mac N Cheese (very good) with a small salad. My son had their French Dip which he said was good and their fries. Will be going back again on my next visit. They also can accommodate a private party or an event with a room upstairs. Just an FYI – no elevator if you needed it.

Madison Saves the Day!
Just had my sons and future Daughter-in-laws rehearsal dinner at this establishment. Sorry to say did not go as planned since they served the wrong dinner. Should have been Filet and Chicken – we were served some undercooked Salmon (several servings) and Chicken.
THE PERSON WHO SAVED THE DAY AND OUR EVENT -was our bartender / server – MADISON!!!
She was awesome and worked so hard along with her GM.
They did get my son (The Groom) a Filet (since he hates fish). They also did not charge us for the extra 4 people who showed up and were not part of the final count (to help make up for the food mix up). All in all if you book an event here, check and double check with their event coordinator on your final counts and to make sure you get the meal that you ordered and paid to have served.
We had a good time overall and room is perfect for a private event.

I visited Taxman for a team dinner on a weekday and overall the experience was 4* I say that cause my grilled cheese sandwich (pretty much the only vegetarian option) was too sweet. Granted it came with fig jam but the abundance of sweetness didn’t sit well. The Brussels sprouts were a crowd favorite and we ended up ordering twice. Service was a tad bit slow despite Taxman being visibly empty. Overall ambience and vibe weren’t the best, something was off for a downtown location. Will have to give it another try to enjoy the place.

I must have been on an off day. I was recommended this place by a buddy, but didn’t quite meet my expectations. Fries were overdone, burger was greasy, bacon was undercooked, and waffle was so sweet it overpowered any sort of chicken flavor. Although the food wasn’t up to par, the place itself is pretty awesome. Great beer garden and awesome rustic feel inside. I will be back to try this place again and will update this review accordingly.

Skylar J was our server and boy was she amazing! She would definitely be our main reason for ever returning – we came to the Taxman five years ago when my husband and I eloped and had a great time. We recently celebrated our five-year anniversary and thought it would be a great idea to visit Indy to return. As far as the location/atmosphere nothing has changed, it was still incredible. However, the brewery aspect… yeah, I do not know what happened at all because my husband said everything tasted like various versions of dirty dish water. He got a flight plus another 4oz sample and the only one he ended up liking was the Empire Strikes DIPA – which he said it was really good but was disappointed that all the others were so unsavory. I asked Skylar to tell the bartender to max me something sweet but not strong, allowing it to be their choice – they picked the Tipsy Monk and boy was it strong. I really had to milk it and thankfully the ice cube watered it down to make it drinkable. The food though was great, we only did an appetizer and got the pretzel – we both loved the warmed mustard dipping sauce. Towards the end of our stay it ended up getting slammed with a lot of people coming in before the concert – Skylar handled it beautifully and apologized for getting busy. We of course did not mind at all, if anything we felt so bad for her because we could see the bartender was taking out his stresses from the rush onto her (we are very observant and love to people watch). Even with all of that going on Skylar still gave us service with a contagious smile, polite and beyond kind. She is the reason we had such an enjoyable experience even though the drinks were very disappointing. So thank you so much Skylar – we are still on your side and we appreciate how wonderful of a job you did!

Loved the food, we had their appetizers. Pretzel was soft and warm and had the right amount of salt with some fall out on the plate. Beer cheese and mustard was so good, they both tasted home made.
Truffle fries… I smelled it before they came in. They looked like they’d be crunchy fries but they were just brown in color. Still tasty! I was burping truffle the rest of the day though.
Chicken was awesome! Breading fell off of the chicken almost immediately.
Drinks were also great! Each tasted unique and to me unlike your average “beer”. But by the end of the visit there wasn’t one from the flight I would be excited buy.
Would definitely come again and enjoy the food drinks and atmosphere. Seems like a great area of Indianapolis too!

A short walk from downtown, outside seating for the non winter days. Plenty of choices for brews and ability to buy flights to sample multiple beers without getting wasted.
Food choices slightly out of the ordinary. Definitely worth a visit.

I had a great experience today. I was pleasantly surprised to find live music on a Sunday at noon that provided a nice atmosphere. I ordered 2 flights to sample most of the brews to purchase cans to go. Some of my favorites were bourbon barrel qualified, hop audit endeavor, and bourbon barrel liquidity. This is a great place for Belgium inspired brews. I hope to try some food on my next visit.
