Last minute decision to eat out on a Monday night as this place had just joined ‘First Table.’ I had not eaten here since it was rebranded. The menu looked great and authentic. Carbonara made without cream sold it to me! We ordered homemade foccacia to share. Delicious. I had the carbonara which was as good as I hoped,my husband had the hot honey and Nduja pizza which had such a light dough it was divine,and we had a side of fries. Hot and crispy! The waiter was so lovely. Very helpful,attentive and chatty- he seemed to really care about our experience at the restaurant. The bill was under £30 including service and our (soft) drinks. You can’t get a takeaway for that these days. I’d definitely go back at full price.

Lovely meal. Service was sporadic: a while to come to take a drinks order so ordered in one go. Starters came very quickly, but mains took a long time to come, same with dessert. Second drinks order was forgotten about so had to reorder.

Nicely laid out with plenty of space between the tables. Little off putting to see ant traps on the floor along the wall beside the table. Also multiple fruit flies around the table as we ate.
Menu has great choice. Calamari was delicious. Scampi dish disappointing as expected to see normal monkfish tails on the pasta but it was bits of pickled scampi instead and a bit tasteless. Coffee excellent, wine delicious. Things could be improved to make the experience better.

We had a fantastic lunch at this place. The ambiance is relaxed and homey, and the staff are very friendly too. It’s a bit pricey, but you won’t regret a single penny because the quality of the food is superb. I had the seabass—it was mouthwatering and full of flavor. My company had the pork, lasagna, and tiramisu for dessert. All were equally delicious and pleasing to the palate. We’ll definitely be coming back to this place. xx

We love it here and the First Table deal makes it easier to feed a family of four, meaning we can now visit more often. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Orders taken quickly, food arrived in good time and presented well. Food was great, generous portions, well cooked, hot, and tasted homemade and fresh. Lasagne is the best I’ve had. We will definitely be continuing to eat here.

Enjoyed dinner here last night – it was brilliant. Two of us had the linguine with crab, lobster bisque, chilli, lemon & butter. The other two in our party had the beef brisket ragu and the pollo milanese. Everything was delicious and portions were generous. The fact that all the pasta is made daily in-house added to the quality of the dishes. Service was slick and professional, and the wine and chiccetti were a great accompaniment to the mains. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Sadly it was really disappointing. I hate to be negative for any venue in hospitality as I’m fully aware how difficult it is but the whole experience was just a bit hopeless. Staff were pleasant but not particularly effective and due to confusion on the wine it took 25 mins to get a bottle and that was in a restaurant that only had two other tables occupied! The focaccia was odd, more like strange sponge cake and served with nasty tasting olive oil. Calamari was bland and a bit soggy. Burrata dish ok but they’d run out of oranges so given extra grapefruit but presentation was lacking. Lasagna was passable as was crab pasta although it looked a really strange green colour. Pizza wasn’t great, far too thick and barely any topping. The special penne dish was tasty and reasonably priced. Wine was overpriced for what it was. No ambience and very brightly lit. So we won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend….. sorry but you’ll need to up your game to stay as highly rated as you currently show on Google!

Sadly a pretty disappointing experience. After seeing how amazing the food looked on social media, my partner & I were really excited to try this place. I had ordered the truffle & porcini pasta and it just tasted extremely chemically, like somehow cleaning solution had either got into the bowl or the food itself. The taste was so strong I couldn’t get it out my mouth. The pasta was also swimming in oil/ some liquid at the bottom of the bowl. When I mentioned this to the waitress she said ‘it shouldn’t taste like that’ – well I hope not! In the end I swapped this out for the carbonara which was rather average and not like a traditional Italian carbonara at all. I really hope their kitchen team has investigated into this chemical taste as none of the staff were concerned about it, no food should ever be going out tasting like a cleaning solution. Service was okay. Just be aware sometimes what you see on Instagram isn’t at all how it may look in real life!

Likely to become our new favourite, we popped in for a midweek bite by chance and were so pleasantly surprised by the care and thought which was our reception. Our two grandchildren were very happy with the children’s menu and we both ate delicious pasta Norma… we will be back and would highly recommend!
