Upon arrival to our dining experience at the Taverna Akumal, we were met with a welcoming greeting and bright smile by an angel of a server, Sabrina. Not only was our service borderline Michelin star, but the food was just as captivating as our Sabrina was. I’m not sure I could recreate the great time we had without the help of our server Sabrina. All in all she made our time at dinner an unforgettable experience.

We went out to diner here twice during our vacation and both times the food and the service were great! Alberto was very hospitable as our waiter, and the food was delicious! Keep your eye out for their restauant cat, Pickles, who was an adorable addition to the ambiance.

If you are staying in the area definitely check this place out. We almost didn’t go here because Italian food in Mexico? But I’m glad we did because it was the best meal we had in Akumal. The service was amazing, top notch. The drinks were good and the food was fantastic. We would definitely go back again if we are ever staying around the area again.

La Taverna is a highly recommended, complete dining experience. From the moment we were greeted at the door by Ada, the custom cocktails, appetizers, meals and dessert, everything was not only fantastic, but they made us feel welcome. Don’t hesitate, this is the dining experience you are looking for. We enjoyed it so much we went back our last night for one more fantastic meal. I wish we had a restaurant this good near us.

Highly recommend La Taverna in Akumal! One of our favorite spots! Alberto was our server and we enjoyed the outstanding service, atmosphere, food and drinks so much we had to come back and see him again! He was extremely accommodating with food allergies and questions about the menu. A must-go! And ask for Alberto!

Nice outdoor dining restaurant with great spacing between tables. Staff were very kind and helpful. If you’re a non Spanish speaker, the staff does speak English the ravioli was very high quality and although it doesn’t seem like a massive portion was definitely enough to feel content. Was good. Had as a primi plati gnocchi, which was mediocre. And afterwards a pizza that was also okay. It’s a good place to get reminded that there is Italian food, but it just wasn’t it for the money.

My wife and our 1 y.o boy had such a nice experience at this restaurant that we went 2 nights in a row for dinner. Lola and Jorge were our servers, and we couldn’t be more pleased(both of us lifers in the industry). The pizza was unbelievable, the staff amazing, and the drinks were delicious and cold! My wife got the guava mocktail, which she said was unbelievable! We really enjoyed the fugatini(mushroom & truffle oil) pizza, as well as the Caprese salad. Overall, a wonderful place in a beautiful gem of Mayan Riviera. Thank you, Lola, Jorge and rest of the amazing staff!
