Staying at a friend’s house down the road and decided to stop by. I’m glad I did!
I ordered the fried catfish with fries. Pretty tasty stuff! (forgot to take a pic of my plate)
That was the only thing I had eaten for the day, so after two Axis IPA’s and an Art Car IPA, I ordered fried pickles. Thinly sliced and crispy. Just how I like them. Perfect with a cold beer.
I ended up staying until the live music was over (five hours later) and met lots of cool people. Shelbie and Randy are great! This place is my new hangout while I’m in town. I had a blast.

We didn’t know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised to see such a quaint place and actually on the lake.
The food was great. Our waitress was so nice. Our meals were excellent!
Hawaiian chicken sandwich and the Oops burger was very good.
We finished with the Caramel apple pie cake which was yummy.
Try it out. I think you’ll enjoy this casual laid-back place.

Burgers were great. I loved the catfish. Cozy, local bar type atmosphere. Loved sitting on the patio and had a super nice view of the lake, a deck and a boat launch. Tvs out there for watching sports. Mostly 4 tops with chairs. Staff fantastic and friendly. And beer buckets.

Server was GREAT. I’d like to start there. Super sweet girl. Tracey was very rude and inpatient during bingo. She denied our win and gave it to a regular. It was our first time there and it felt extremely uncomfortable. I have a STRONG feeling there’s some unethical behaviors going on here. I’ve also noticed half of the good reviews on here are from the workers themselves, not actual customers. Which tells me more about the business’ integrity. Your reviews shouldn’t need to be fluffed and gambling regulations need to be followed. I’ll be researching who to report this to further. BBB doesn’t feel like its enough in this case.

My food was disgusting and so was my drink. Bingo was not fun at all. The lady running bingo needs to get her ears checked. I was inside and I heard the group of ladies outside yell bingo. Somehow she did not. I am 58, my hearing is not good by all means and I still heard them. She told the lady it did not count and the lady sitting in front of her said she did not hear it either. Surprise surprise the lady in front of her won. I do not want to support a business where the food is awful and their bingo night is rigged. I feel awful for that group of ladies. I will not return until they find someone else to run the bingo and the food gets better.

I love Tavern on the Lake! Always a friendly atmosphere and the food never disappoints. The catfish and garlic parmesan chicken sandwiches are my favorites. Drink prices are cheap! I also love that they do live music on Thursdays!

Bingo at the Tavern is seriously the best way to spend a Wednesday night! Tracy (the Bingo lady) is so sweet and makes sure everyone knows what’s going on. Shelbie made me some awesome cocktails and was super amazing the whole time. We had a burger and catfish for dinner — both were amazing!! Can’t wait to go back next week for more rounds of Bingo!!

First time dining here was just what we needed as we have a 1 yr. It’s family friendly, staff was amazing to our large party. Derek kept the glasses full and our table clean. The food was delish and the view of Lake Weatherford was just a bow on the night. They do a great job of working the small space while keeping it affordable and good. Will return when I’m back in North Texas

Great little place on Lake Weatherford. Very friendly people! Great burgers and fries. Great service. A nice place to cool off inside on a scorching hot day. Good place for watching live music on the back patio overlooking the lake. Can’t wait to try the catfish and desserts.
