Tavern Law 1832 is a cozy locally owned and operated neighborhood sports pub that specializes in craft beers. Our 16 taps are devoted to the hard working brewers of NC. We also have a full bar with hand crafted cocktails you’ll have to check out for yourselves. Enjoy our 10 big screen TV’s, sports packages, bar games, and always free popcorn machine. Our staff is friendly, funny, knowledgeable and ready to make your day a little brighter! Until 1832 it was legally required to have a room rented for the night in order to enjoy an adult beverage. Always have the best experience at tavern law especially when Haley is working! She makes the best bloody Mary’s in downtown Wilmington and there only $5 on Sundays! Haley will make sure you have the best time!

So. I showed up and Chris (the bartender) was working on the music. Either way. I am never disappointed by this place. The atmosphere is wonderful. Just a chill place to hang out and grab a local beer with friends.

Went there on a night out and off the bat the vibes from the short, petite blonde haired bartender were terrible! She was rude and very unpleasant from the beginning. She made us one drink a piece and before we could even finish them she throws her hands in the air and yells “are u gonna tip me” in front of a whole crowd; Like she was obligated a tip. On top of that she doesn’t know her drinks, she made me an amaretto sour & it was AWFUL. Literally only put caption and sour mix, then Before even allowing us to finish & wait until we were done she wanted to assume we weren’t gonna tip her and made a scene. So we didn’t even finish our drinks and walked out. I will NEVER return to such a poorly mannered bar again & I definitely will let everyone I know not to come here. Especially when I had friends come from out of town just to experience her ill manners. Do better & act better and maybe you’d be tipped! She truly shouldn’t be working in customer service when she has NONE!

I love Tavern!
5 or so years ago my life long friend John started it as Tavern on 2nd (almost positive that was the name). He passed away and his partner and best friend kept it going. When I go down town that’s my first stop. I’ll always love the place no matter who and what is there. Check it out and you’ll be pleased!!

I have never been to Tavern until tonight to see Juno. I left extremely upset about the disrespect and rude behavior of the bartender , ( 2/1/25)
I am uncertain of why! The rolling of the eyes and overall an awful experience , i will be sure to never go back.. if service is unpleasant employee unkind wasn’t a positive experience
