I had the pleasure of celebrating my sons baptism celebration at Tavern 61 and it was nothing less than amazing. Staff was extremely accommodating from setting up early to meeting diet restrictions for our guest! The food was absolutely delicious and everyone had an amazing time- we can’t wait to be back.

Food was awesome, prices are accommodating for those looking to spend a lot or a little, and the atmosphere was great. Very clean in there, and the styling was very modern. Drinks were delicious as well. All of the staff were extremely polite and professional. Great little gem we found completely by chance. Will definitely go back if I’m in the area.

Great service…. delicious food paired with a perfect wine. I’ve recommend this restaurant to many people from my social media posts. The only thing that was a turn off was a table in of people staring at us like a science project. Other than that it was a great experience. Parking lot was kinda small but it wasn’t that busy when we went.

I’ve been to this place a good 10 times now. I would describe the food as elevated bar food. We bring visiting co-workers all the time. It’s casual/quiet enough for us to talk, but nicer than a typical bar. Everything we have had on the menu has been good.

Ok. So. It’s Monday night! Hackensack. And I wanted something really good! And went to Tavern61!!! On River Street. Walked in and was greeted from a beautiful dark haired Italian bartender. Who’s on fire by the way. The drinks were made literally in the blink of an eye to perfection. The bar had the perfect temperature after a day of 100° weather. The atmosphere was so inviting with the music in the background that just entertained you to sit down and have a drink and stay. Of course being the food either I am I asked the owner if he could make me something special that wasn’t on the menu. Without hesitation he came out of the kitchen and said whatever you like we can do for you. The bartender turned around and was quick to say would you like another cocktail. I said yes! Sure. After getting the food and tasting it to perfection I was then offered an after dinner drink and a free dessert. The part tender who works on Mondays only. Her name is Katie. You must come and experience a Happy a Monday with her. I found out the Owner who was here tonight, named Gence!!!, has a specialty for food! You name it and he will ensure the kitchen will do their best to make you what you want. I have to be honest I was very skeptical about places in Hackensack as all the buildings are up-and-coming and the restaurants are not. But this place on a Monday is the place to be if you want good food, good drinks, great music and the service is superb. Tavern61 you rock!!!! Thank you Gence and Katie!!!! Coming every Monday! And telling all my friends!!!

Nice atmosphere. Good selection of appetizers. Garlic parmasean wings and calamari were excellent. Also happy with our entrees. We ordered the steak and slider special. The only recommendation would be for the cocktails to be in a more presentable glass. Couldn’t tell if I was drinking a specialty cocktail or juice.
