Stopped in for lunch. Lots of tvs with a variety of sports on, great seating options and a great menu. I had the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich with the Hot Mess fries and it was SO good.

Locally owned and full of small-town charm with big-time flavor. The menu offers a wide variety with something for everyone — even the littles. The Fried Green Tomatoes, Asian Ahi Wonton tacos, and the Italian Sub are to delicious. The bar can make just about anything you can think of, and the Buffalo Trace Old Fashion is a personal favorite with the best Amaretto cherries! In the summer, the patio is the place to be, surrounded by miles of corn and stunning evening sunsets. ☀️ If you’re looking for something different in a small town — beyond the usual flash-fried food — I highly recommend checking out Tavern 22!

We discovered this great little gem last Friday evening, in an unexpected place, Amanda, Ohio. It is a MUST TRY! This new restaurant is about 10 minutes from Lancaster off Route 22. It has a trendy cool vibe with great food and a menu with something for everyone. And, the price is right! We ordered the Ahi Tuna won ton chips for an appetizer. They were tasty and fresh. We would order this again. My fellow diner ordered the Blackjack Burger. It was delicious with a generous amount of crunchy bacon and fried onion straws. The french fries were perfect, crunchy on the outside lovely on the inside. This is a great value for the price. I ordered the Chicken Milanese. The chicken cutlet was perfectly cooked. The breading was crunchy and tasty while the meat was tender and flavorful. It was just the right amount of breading! The pasta was perfectly prepared and the arugula/tomatoes were fresh. The dish was topped off with a delicious citrus sauce. It’s served with a slice of ciabatta bread which I used to soak up that wonderful sauce. I ate every bite. Both of us would order those selections again. Considering that this is a new restaurant, the service was great. Overall, the service was great with friendly efficient staff. The owners are friendly and checked in with us, in spite of the place being packed! FYI the restroom was clean! This restaurant will not disappoint. Once the weather permits, they will open the patio. I highly recommend this restaurant! Kudos to O and G for a great experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Restaurant Review: Tavern 22 Neighborhood Grill
I recently attended the soft opening of Tavern 22 Neighborhood Grill, and I was immediately impressed by the amazing atmosphere. The place has a super cool ambiance—modern and stylish yet warm and welcoming. It’s the kind of spot that works for a casual night out with friends or a more special occasion.
On top of the great vibe, the food did not disappoint. We started off with the Asian AHA Tuna Wontons, a chef’s specialty, and they were bursting with fresh flavors. The Spinach Artichoke Dip was another standout—rich, creamy, and perfect for sharing. We also sampled the Southwestern Egg Rolls, which had a nicely balanced kick, and for a bit of nostalgia, we tried the Bologna Sandwich. It was such a fun throwback that really took me back to childhood favorites.
Overall, the experience was fantastic. The staff seemed genuinely enthusiastic about what they were doing, and the attention to detail was evident throughout the evening. I’m already looking forward to returning and trying more of their menu. If this soft opening was any indication, Tavern 22 Neighborhood Grill is poised to become a local favorite.
Thank you for reading (and “watching,” if this is from a vlog or video)! I can’t wait to go back and explore more of the menu. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a cool new hangout spot with delicious food.

This is a wonderful location just off of St. Rt. 22. They have a great menu! I received a warm welcome when I came in. They greet every guest in a friendly and professional manner. This was opening day and it was a little busy. However; everyone was seated and getting their food in a timely manner. Plus everyone was having a wonderful time. Great atmosphere!

Food was cooked very poorly and not properly seasoned. 1 meal under cooked with little to no seasoning, 2 meals Not cooked to order (bourbon chicken was dry and hard) 4th meal (tender meal) was the only decent one. Staff and atmosphere were good. Not worth the price of admission in my opinion.

Tavern 22 truly exceeded our expectations, especially since it was our very first time dining there. The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced, which immediately made a great impression on us. During our visit, we experienced an unexpected situation when our server had to leave due to illness, and unfortunately our order hadn’t been taken after being there for about an hour. As soon as the owner became aware, they personally came over to our table, apologized sincerely, and was incredibly kind and understanding. To our surprise, they generously compensated our entire meal, which truly meant so much to us. The level of care, professionalism, and genuine concern for their guests was heartwarming and speaks volumes about this establishment. Because of this experience, we will absolutely be returning and already recommend Tavern 22 to our friends and family every chance we get!

The shrimp appetizer was incredible. The flavor was surprisingly top-notch. Until now, you would have to go to a Cameron Mitchell’s restaurant to get that quality of food. Well worth the drive looking forward to the outside patio when the weather gets nice.

Friday night dinner crowd and still had room for more people. Ample parking. Outdoor dining available seasonally. Many beers on tap for your favorite brew. Many sandwiches on the menu to select from, with fries. Mushroom burger is a great choice. Location is just a few minutes to Amanda from Route 33 by-pass around Lancaster. Restaurant is between Lancaster and Circleville just off St Rt. 22 in Amanda. Dinner for Two just under $40. This place is a “Hidden Gem”.

This restaurant might be the hidden gem of Fairfield county, it’s a destination establishment for sure.
The food is head and shoulders above most non niche offerings in Lancaster or Circleville ,portions are large; matching the price points perfectly.
I have to gush about it, I have traveled the breadth and width of the country and the bourbon chicken on offer is exceptional.
It’s not some diced chicken with GFS bourbon sauce on it. It’s genuine, correctly prepared, bourbon chicken served on rice.
I have not had an comparable dish anywhere else above Tennessee!
The Ahi Tuna wontons were an excellent surprise as well! Beautiful, non seared sushi grade tuna atop smashed avocado, topped with veggies, all nestled in a fried wonton bowl; similar to a cupcake.
They also have a well sized list of beers on tap, with a great selection, exceptionally rare for its surrounding bars and restaurants.
If you find yourself in Lancaster, Circleville, even going to or from the Hocking Hills, Tavern 22 is worth the small detour.
