I was passing through Ellensburg, Washington, late at night on 5/18/23. I needed to get a bite to eat, but didn’t take into account how early things close up, even though it is a college town.  Fortunately, The Tav was still serving food.

July 12 -The three girls working the bar dining area need a raise – They were amazing! They were so fast and friendly. Our group was extremely impressed considering the restaurant was full. We’re traveling for work and ate at 3 well-known restaurants in the area and this place by far had the best service.

One of the go-to bars in ellensburg, hands down. Some of the very best bar food (and food in general) in town, good drinks, I’ve never seen it get way too busy on a normal day so there’s almost always room, a pretty relaxed chill atmosphere ranging in demographics of people and great service. You can tell the employees work hard and it pays off, I’ve gotten to know a couple personally and in my experience all the staff here are good kind people. The male restroom is quite small but that’s the case for most bars in general, the restrooms are usually an afterthought in the architecture. No complaints I can think of aside from that.

Didn’t have a lot of expectations coming here. But both my wife and my sister-in-law and brother have been here and had said that it was really good. We decided to stop here on our way back from Spokane and it was late on a Saturday so I didn’t expect to be able to get in. We were very lucky and caught a clean table just as a couple was leaving. Very busy and upbeat atmosphere. Seemed to be a very popular place for both college kids and young adults. So anyway, we decided to get some wings which were very crunchy and juicy and tender on the inside. We then ordered burgers. My sister got a mushroom burger that was really good She said. My brother and I both got the bacon super mother burgers. They were delicious. I’m just sorry I didn’t take pictures. They were excellent and the shoestring fries were just right. Coupled with a couple of beers it was a very satisfying evening. Definitely will be back.

Was told the fries were to die for. No clue why since they were nothing more than out of a bulk Costco bag. Seriously. With no salt. I was expecting some home cut, thick fries fried in peanut oil with a special seasoning or something. Nope. Just bland fries that werent even as good as McDonalds fries. Beer was good but the food is not what people claim it is.

I can’t say enough great things. The foods great. The waitresses and friendly and tonight there’s probably close to 50 people and 1 waitress and she’s been by to fill my drink or ask how I’m doing no less then 5 times. Everyone was happy and had a drink ir food. 2nd time here and will definitely be back!

Sat at the pool tables and waited for 30 minutes and still no server came. Played 3 games with my buddy and left. Wasn’t even a slammed Friday night and they were full staffed. Had multiple servers walk past and not ask if we needed anything. Really disappointed, love this place and tonight failed to meet expectations.
