Petite neighborhood eatery featuring traditional Laotian stews & sausages plus small plates.
Taurus Ox
Taurus Ox is the first of it’s kind to provide Seattle with the bold, umami, spicy, herbaceous, and aromatic flavors of Laos in a fuss-less atmosphere.

Yes, you need to try the Lao burger!! It’s on multiple top lists for a reason! Everything was so flavorful!! Meat seasoned so well, crisp edges, cheese and sauce that just make everything melt in your mouth. Absolutely scrumptious!!
The Nam Khao was yummy too! It has such a unique mix of flavors; crunchy rice, tangy, savory pork skin, crunchy peanuts, and a fresh crisp of lettuce! Just so good!!! I just wish they gave us bigger pieces of lettuce. The pieces were small so it made it difficult to make a wrap.
The place is tastefully decorated with Laos culture, we enjoyed sitting in the back booths, although it was a bit darker than the front. Service was good and had a great experience. We will be coming back for sure, as I am still thinking of that burger!

Taurus Ox offers a lovely dining experience with beautifully presented dishes and friendly servers. I liked the restaurant’s overall vibe. While everything looked impressive, the flavors didn’t quite capture the authentic Laotian taste I know from home-cooked meals. I guess previous personal experiences came into play, especially when you’re used to traditional flavors from family recipes.
Overall, it was a good experience and perfect for a date night. However, for that true homemade taste, I’ll probably stick to more hole-in-the-wall places. Still, I’d recommend Taurus Ox for anyone wanting a pleasant dining experience with a Laotian twist.

This is a really cute spot tucked into a quiet neighborhood, and it has a cozy vibe the moment you walk in. We came during happy hour, and overall the food was solid. The noodle bowl was the highlight for us—deep, rich flavors that really hit the spot. The meat platter was also delicious, but the sticky rice was pretty dry, which took away from the dish a bit.
Still, it was a good experience, and we’d recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area.

Sooo good! Limited vegetarian options, but both the curry and noodles were balanced, full of flavor, yet not spicy. The Jaew sauces are vegetarian and really intense if you need heat in you dishes. I would love to try some of their other dishes in vegetarian form.

The food was incredibly flavorful and unique. Vegan dishes are clearly marked. I got the curry and it was so good, appreciated all the veggies in it. They are known for their Lao sausage, burger, and pork dishes. Don’t skip the side of sauce! The ube sticky bun for dessert was a real highlight for me too. Server was attentive and helpful. Drinks are not too expensive by cap hill standards. We went with a group of 4 at 7 pm on a Tuesday and were able to be seated with no wait.

We had a great dining experience at Taurus Ox. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We loved the Thom Kham and the Lao sausage. The sausage had the special lemongrass and lime leaf flavor in it, and it made the taste distinct from others.

The tastes of Laos right here in Seattle! The flavors of the Soop Pak salad are right on the nose for what we remember of Lao cuisine. Herbaceous and a little funky in the best way. We enjoyed the counter seating which came with a view of the lads in the kitchen whipping out the good stuff and having a fun time together doing it.

The food was delicious. The service was slow – we weren’t the only table that got forgotten about. But the food was delicious. I’d go back for sure.
The cocktails were inventive with a Laoation flavor, the smash burger was wonderful and the Nam Khao and Lao Beef Jerky were delicious.

Overall Taurus Ox is a solid option for a date night or catching up with friends! While I thought it was good I think it left a lot more to be desired and while the burger was good it wasn’t anything crazy and is a bit overhyped.
//CONTEXT//
I came here as a party of two right when they opened on Saturday for lunch. We were seated immediately
//ENVIRONMENT//
Overall love the environment! This is a great spot to hangout and catch up with a friend. It’s cozy and cute decor is warm and inviting but still elevated.
//FOOD//
* Burger: everyone raves about this spot! It is definitely unique with the toppings and how they cook it, but the patty was a bit dry and could have been a lot more moist. I was expecting more of an umami flavor explosion but didn’t really get that here. It’s not bad at all and solid but didn’t leave feeling satisfied
* Crispy salad: this was good! But I’ve also had better at another Thai spot.
* Sausage: also good but again something was missing to make it stand out
There are some spots that do things well and I think that TO is good! I just feel like there was something missing in the food to make me want to go back. It needs a certain something and more flavor!
