Adriano was an excellent server as usual (the best we have ever experienced). He consistently went above and beyond with our family and friends every time we come there which is usually once a week. We are also very pleased with the decor, cleanliness, and food selections of the restaurant. Carlos’s Right Hand sushi chef made us a delicious roll off the menu. One of the best ” they should put it in the menu and call it
“Mirela’s Special ” Five stars across the board Adriano is the best the owner is very lucky to have him there. Also the restaurant is really and and great customer service and
interaction which is hard to find now a days.

Tatsu is a solid spot here that really delivers on atmosphere and flavor. The authentic Japanese design stands out right away – warm wood tones, pink Sakuras, clean lines, and a cozy layout that makes the space feel both traditional and welcoming.

On a packed Saturday night, the team was clearly working at full speed. The chef in particular was impressive – focused, efficient, and handling a nonstop flow of orders without missing a beat. You could feel the effort and care behind the counter.

The sashimi was fresh, clean, and genuinely delicious – exactly what you hope for when you sit down at a sushi bar. The specialty rolls like Flaming Dragon were beautifully plated with a bit of flair, and the uni shooters were the highlight of the night – rich, briny, and absolutely outstanding.

Overall, a lively, high-quality sushi experience. When a restaurant is that busy and still maintains this level of freshness and service, that says a lot. Definitely worth coming back.

What an extraordinary experience from the moment you walk through the door. You are immediately welcomed with a comforting bowl of traditional Japanese miso soup, served complimentary and promptly, setting the tone for what follows. The soup itself is deeply satisfying: warm, savory, and perfectly balanced, a simple dish executed with real care.

The sake selection is excellent and thoughtfully curated, pairing beautifully with the meal. The chirashi was nothing short of spectacular, an artful presentation of impeccably fresh fish, each variety distinct in texture and flavor. Every bite felt deliberate and refined, showcasing both quality ingredients and skilled preparation.

From start to finish, every aspect of this restaurant impressed me. The service was attentive, warm, and genuinely hospitable without ever being intrusive. The food was exquisite, nuanced, elegant, and deeply satisfying. The atmosphere was inviting and calm, allowing the craftsmanship of the cuisine to shine.

This is easily one of the finest sushi experiences I have had anywhere in California. Memorable, authentic, and executed at the highest level. My sincere thanks to the entire team for such a remarkable dining experience.

This restaurant just became my favourite Japanese restaurant in the area. We ordered two lunch combo with Katsu, Beef Teriyaki and Deep fried gyoza. First came complimentary miso soup once we sat down. Very thoughtful. Lunch combo start at $14.50 and $1 to $4 extra depending on what you order. Food was served in an efficient manner. They even gave us 6 dumplings on the house. Katsu was good. Not too much coating. Teriyaki wasn’t too sweet. Staff were friendly and efficient. Overall a very good experience.

I’ve been a loyal customer at Tatsu since 2021, and let me tell you, the quality has been consistently outstanding. The flavors, the freshness of the fish, and the overall dining experience have all been top-notch over the years. I’ve checked out a bunch of new sushi places in Walnut Creek, and honestly, a lot of them seem to care more about the vibe than the food. Sure, they might look nice, but the sushi itself is often just okay, leading to a pretty average dining experience.
But Tatsu is different. Here, you can count on beautiful presentation with truly high-quality fish, along with friendly service, all at a fair price. When you compare it to other sushi spots in the area, the bang for your buck here is unbeatable. The exceptional quality of the fish at Tatsu truly sets it apart as one of the best sushi spots in Walnut Creek. If you know your sushi and appreciate good value, I definitely suggest giving this place a shot. You won’t regret it.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Tatsu Sushi is an absolute gem and easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality that made us feel right at home.

The restaurant itself is impeccably clean—everything from the floors to the restrooms was spotless, which really stood out and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The décor is modern, stylish, and inviting, with thoughtful touches that add a cozy charm to the space. It’s clear that a lot of care went into creating a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere.

Now let’s talk about the staff—every single person we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. A special shout-out goes to Joe, who was absolutely amazing! Not only was he incredibly welcoming and upbeat, but he also surprised us with free gyoza and miso soup on the house. His positive attitude and top-notch customer service truly made our night.

Tatsu Sushi is the kind of place you want to keep coming back to—not just for the food (which was delicious, by the way), but for the whole experience. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a memorable and enjoyable meal with fantastic vibes all around. Thank you, Joe and the Tatsu Sushi team!

Went to Tatsu Sushi for lunch with a coworker and had a great experience. We were seated right away and served miso soup as soon as we sat down. We both got the 2-item lunch special for $14.50, which came with white rice, salad, two pieces of California roll, and a generous portion of food. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and a tempura roll—both were hot, fresh, and flavorful. My coworker had the same but with the tempura mix. The service was quick, portions were solid, and the price was very reasonable. Definitely a good lunch spot—we’ll be back!

To say I enjoy coming here would be an understatement. This is, without qualification, one of the finest sushi establishments I’ve encountered—remarkably so in an age where mediocrity too often disguises itself behind neon signs and inflated prices.

Yes, there is sometimes a wait. But unlike the dreary purgatory one endures elsewhere, here it is tempered with grace. A complimentary bowl of miso, a plate of gyoza—small gestures, perhaps, but in hospitality as in politics, small gestures often reveal the larger character.

The sushi itself is exemplary. Freshness is no mere claim; it is self-evident. The rice achieves that rare state of perfection: firm enough to hold, supple enough to yield. And the spicy tuna hand roll—particularly when procured directly from the bar and delivered to one’s hand in half a minute—belongs in that rarified category of things whose simplicity is their triumph.

In sum, this place manages what so few others even attempt: excellent food, exemplary service, and an atmosphere of genuine welcome. I recommend it without hesitation, and with a certain gratitude that such standards still exist.
