Update 6/5/22 open until 9. Went there with friends visiting from out of town. Walked in at 8:13 and was met at door when we walked in and told “we are closed”. Just like that. But TV’S on in bar, door open, and cars in lot. Embarrassed as we now had to find somewhere else to take friends. Went from a monthly customer to excustomer. Wont be back.
Little place with big flavors. All 3 of us enjoyed our meals. Fresh home-cooked Italian food. Will be going back for sure. I had the shrimp fra Diablo. EXCELLENT!!! (photo) meals $12-$19. Big servings for the price.

Tates saves the day I had just had a really bad experience at another restaurant called in my order I got there before the food was ready and tates rushed our order to feed my crying daughter. Thank you guys not only did they helps us out but the food is amazing really good

A group of friends and I were looking for something to eat that was a little special and very cozy. We got that anymore. Two friends ordered pizzas and absolutely love them. My other friends, who is quite the sizable guy, order the calzone and commented on how it was the best one he’s ever had. He was satisfied as well. I have the lasagna, and was surprised at how spicy it was, in the best of ways. This place was fantastic, and the staff was nothing but amazing.

I eat here maybe 3/4 times a month. I own a small business and am principally responsible for sales to residential and commercial properties in south Tampa. I have had almost everything on the lunch menu and everything I have had has been wonderful. What prompted me to write this review was the lasagna I had yesterday was terrific. Tates is clean, the staff are warm and friendly, the lunch portions are generous and the prices are more than fair.

Traveling through and stopped in to get some good food according to the reviews.
Parking lot was almost empty.
Inside smelled kinda musty and old beerish.
There was a guy counting the money in the register. I asked for a table or a booth.
He started mumbling and said the boss shut off the oven.
I asked him, are you closed? Your sign shows open for another 1.5hrs.
He mumbled and said we ain’t busy and closing and he kept mumbling.
I left.
